Why would a World Government be a bad thing?

My position now is pretty much on the fence. Many of the arguments for and against 1WG have plenty of weight it seems to me, and we appear to be dividing into two camps, the Optimists and the Cynics.

Those are the wrong labels. The split is better described as between the constrained and unconstrained vision of human nature.

The constrained vision has a better track record.

Laws passed without consent of majority of the governed -- which Ladewig's post implied, -- are either tyrannical or impotent.

Then, as I said, most laws are tyrannical. When's the last time you voted on a law ?

Judging by Belz's other posts, he can't possibly be so stupid as not to understand just what would be involved in "enforcing" Ladewig's proposed laws. So that snarky remark is pure troll.
