Why Wasn't Auschwitz Bombed?

Well thats killed this thread. If Heinrich Himler said it - It must be true

And they never did burn all those books!

And Hitler was loved by children!

I thought, based on historical data, that the bombing of London was the first deliberate targeting of civilians, and led to the all out war which included both sides bombing civilian targets. Is that right?

Someone will probably correct the city, but I believe the bombing the centre of Antwerp by the Germans was the first such incident about 6 months prior.

I am not sure of the date, but the Germans at one point threatened to bomb the Nerthlands back to the 16th century by delibertly targeting the dyke and levee system around the country. So this may even pre-date the Antwerp incident

Thats a very good point. The fire raids did not take place in isolation, the Allies did worry if they were crossing the same moral lines the Germans had, and did struggle with the answers

Bomber Harris was much shunned after the war, and it was only recently that any sort of memorial was built for him. And I am certain that none of the crews that flew the big raids recieved campagin ribbons or unit citations. Personally I believe Harris did go a little too far. But then again I didn't suffer the Blitz, so I am happy to forgive and forget

With the fire raids on Tokyo, it must be remembered that the US bombed in a checker board pattern, and did drop leaflets to warn what district would be next. Sure it was pyschological, but to be fair at least the population had the option if they wanted too.

I've been away, but, speaking of history: meanwhile, in Sept 1939, the Germans started the game by what can only be called terror bombing in Poland. I wonder why the folks who say, "Lo, the poor Germans," never mention that? Could it be because it was only Poles and Jews and various Slavic minorities who were being killed? That couldn't be the reason, could it?

That is usually how it is portrayed.

And the same thing in the FIRST WW! (Yes, long range bombing was a fact only 15 years after Kitty Hawk.)

Not certain how accurate that portrayal is, though.

What *is* clear is that if Goering had concentrated on taking out the RAF and only the RAF, Operation Sea Lion would have been able to go ahead. They were nearly wiped out, and only the change of focus to civilian targets at the right moment prevented that.

That is the ENTIRE reason. Those who deny the Holocaust are the very ones who wish they had been there to finish it.

...Auschwitz was a rubber manufacturing plant. The allies knew intimately from their intelligence resources what was going on inside. They knew there were never any exterminations; that's why they didn't bomb Auschwitz.

The railway lines to Auschwitz were presumably to ship in raw materials and ship out finished product.

Getting back to the ovens at Birkenau, here is a quote from Heinrich Himmler in an interview with a representative of the World Jewish Congress just a few weeks before the end of the war:

So the existence of the ovens was a boon for the post-war investigators who used them to begin constructing the Holocaust Legend, and frame the Germans for exterminations that never happened.

First, Auschwitz was a huge complex of camps. It was not a "rubber manufacturing plant." It was quite near the historic city of Oswiecim, and I apologize for leaving out the diacritical marks.

OK Pumpkin, source your Himmler quote. You'll find it, I suspect, in the third file drawer under "Murderers I Admire."

No one denies that cremation facilities (ovens) existed at Auschwitz-Birkenau.

It's actually untrue to claim that no one denies there were crematoria at Auschwitz; a small but vocal faction among the Holocaust denier community claims that the crematoria never existed at all and everything related to them was faked by the Soviets after the war.

See? Just like Da Twoof, you have your no-planers and no-crematoria merchants alike.

:D

My gosh... No-crematorians... I wasn't aware. Learn something new every day. "This Way for the Gas, Ladies and Gentlemen" (Prosze panstwa do gazu), the title of a story by Tadeusz Borowski based on his own experiences.

They're admittedly a small minority, but a very useful one, to demonstrate the inconsistency of Holocaust denial.

Though, as before, still the best inconsistency is Faurisson claiming the Warsaw ghetto uprising broke out "immediately behind the front" (instead of 1000km away) and then to argue that the Jews were resettled in Russia, which would place them... closer to the front than Warsaw.

:jaw-dropp

That's a good analogy. And both respective camps are made up of shills whose ultimate goal is to promote the official stories of their respective debates by discrediting the entire body of dissent on each side.

That's how they maintain their lies. If you want to be an honest debater, you have to recognize who the shills are, ignore them, and instead engage the legitimate dissenters like myself.

The problem A-Train is that you are not an honest debater nor are you a legitimate dissenter. You are nothing more Jew baiter who has a pathological need to justify his hate.

OK, your views on the Wannsee protocol, followed immediately by an explanation of why all those 'revisionists' who disagree with you are shills.

So Mondial does a hit-and-run, puts the tags "free speech" and "holocaust skeptics" on it, and we get bogged down in details with MaGZ.

I'm thinking of Gravy's reasons for leaving the CT forum as reasons for ignoring Holocaust Denier threads. Except I usually pick up some interesting history bits from the intelligent people here.
