There's an implicit assumption of qualification in the philosophy. Note that it doesn't explicitly reference the minimum age requirement, either.

I'm saying that this false claim about Sharia is just another dog whistle. It's demagoguery, fear mongering and xenophobia. It's par for the course for some Republicans.

Also it depends what is meant by "sharia". Please try to get the hard right to explain what they mean. If my experience is anything to go by, you'll be ignored or abused for raising the issue.

Sharia courts function within the justice system of Israel, under that country's Ministry of Justice.

The State of Israel recognized the Sharia Courts, their powers and rulings in accordance with the Law and Administration Ordinance, and even enacted the Kadim Appointments Approval Law which recognized the jurisdiction of the Kadim who served in the Sharia Courts before the State of Israel was created. After the State was established, the Sharia Courts came under the authority of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, a situation which continued until its responsibilities were transferred to the Ministry of Justice on 21.2.01.​
