Why so many threads on Nazis?

But they have little skulls on them. They must be the baddies.

Damn straight though; that is one cool lookin' outfit.

May I submit that Star Fleet uniforms can also be much . . . umm . . . nicer than Nacho unforms, although I admit that it might be the filling which makes the difference.

I actually did this a couple of years ago on the Bad Astronomy Forum

Great stuff.
Back in the glory days of Usenet, someone..I think it was Orac, now very active in the online skeptic community...did a great Holocuast Deniar parody called "The Potato Famine Hoax" which claimed the Irish Potato Famine of 1846-48 never happened, and was a plot by the Irish to gain world wide sympathy for a Independent Irish Homeland. Pretty funny.

Some people just like the Bad Guys.

But they don't necessarily like their Bad Guys that bad, so you get things like honorable gangsters, bloodless vampires, and genocide-less Nazis.

Basically, Holocaust Deniers are Twilight fans.

As a close, personal friend of both the Mad Revisionist and Orac, I can reliably report that while they would both be flattered by the confusion, they are not the same person.

And yes, I've seen them both in the same room at the same time.

We only have your word on that - and even if we could trust you, we know that eyewitnesses are unreliable. :p

The Assyrian came down like the wolf on the fold,
And his cohorts were gleaming in purple and gold;
And the sheen of their spears was like stars on the sea,
When the blue wave rolls nightly on the Galilee.

Well...

You know how when you're driving and you pass by a car accident and can't help but look even though you're afraid of seeing something horrifically traumatizing ?

You know it's going to be ugly, but you just can't resist.

I think it's kind of like that.

Speaking of dogs, someone once said that the most popular subjects in publishing were Nazis, dogs, and medical topics, so that "I Was Hitler's Veterinarian" was sure to be a best-seller.

British humorist Alan Coren came to a similar conclusion several years ago, although he figured it was Nazis, cats, and golf.

Here is the cover of his 1976 volume of short stories.

The unspoken motto of the Holocaust deniers:

"The Holocaust never happened, and we want it to happen again."

If you follow the writings of our resident neo-nazi, I think it's more like, "Look, the Holocaust Never Happened, So Could We Have Another Chance to Get it Right?"

The way I heard it, the statement on the Holocause deniers is "It Never Happened, and They Had It Coming".
