There is no such thing as a bad or stupid question. Questions are not magcial poratls into someone's psyche or belief system.

If you knew your history well you would realize that a REPUBLICAN back in the 1860s had the ideology of a DEMOCRAT of today and vice versa.

In fact if you read political history and know political science you would realize that republicans back then would be AGHAST at what republicans of today stand for and are doing and likewise for the democrats.

It is truly the weirdest phenomenon....how could the parties' ideologies have almost fully REVERSED in this manner?

I think democrats do not face the problems and issues we have. They run and hide and blame the messenger. I got that opinion from reading Bob Woodward's book on the Obama Wars and how all of the Democrats handle war and serious issues. Obama himself said that another 9-11 style attack does not concern him.
