Why not war against Islam?

I am sure most people here would be against organized crime even if it had existed a long time, had impacted cultures (favorably and unfavorably) was huge, and just happened to call itself a religion.

--- or even if it did not even think of itself as organized crime.

Ibn Warraq is right about some things and wrong about others. Specify what you are talking about, with sources. Unfortunately, Ibn Warraq is more and more frequently to be found in the company of the extreme right. I have been following this with acute concern, because by no means do I reject all he has to say.

I'll just chime in at this point to say that offering to war any certain group of people just based on what religion they belong to is insane. And this is coming from one who has cast aside religion.

This is what we call "double-speak".
Nah-huh.

See, I can make a short post without explaining it too.

How is it double-speak? If we are at war with cancer, it is not double speak to say that it is to the benefit of cancer patients.

Interesting. Are you suggesting Islam is a disease and Muslims are the victims?

How do we "cure" the Muslims of the world of this horrible "affliction"?

On a side note, I want you to know that your views on Islam are bigoted, hateful, and pathetic.

If you have a respect for Muslims, you should be in favor of a war against Islam.

Should we also wage war on Judaism and Christianity? After all, the Bible is pro-slavery and tells them to murder a young woman who takes control of her own sex-life. Not to mention the command to kill people who choose different religions.

Do you say.. well, no, you don't... can you say that any of Mohammad's views were "bigoted, hateful, and pathetic"?

Of course. But Muhammed did not grow up in a modern, advanced and educated society. Do you not comprehend the difference?

I'd like to know what other 7th century AD figure, anywhere on Earth, was not "bigoted, hateful, and pathetic" by modern standards.

Interesting. Do you think the "war on poverty" was about killing poor people?

Well then tell us: how do you propose we fight the holy war against Islam?
I never said we we are fighing a "holy war" you are changing the argument to make it more in your favor. Isn't that called a "strawman fallacy"? You are trying to change the opinions and views into something different than what they are. You are inventing somethng I did not say so that they appear to be a character that is easily knocked down. That is bad.
