Split From Why is Prince William considered news?

little grey rabbit, just to let you know, Julie Burchill does sarcasm..... in spades. ;)

Having said that, if Katie had been a top-flight air stewardess she could have bagged herself a nice multi-millionaire without the unbearable hassle that being the world's most hounded and photographed woman will entail. I know which one I'd choose.... but then I wouldn't be able to shoot defenceless fellow creatures in cold blood and call it sport.

What definition of 'dictator' are you using, and when do you think we last had one?

i weonder more what definition you are using, when a few selected are not dictated, he isnt a Dictator?
for me Monarchs are Dictators, as they are not elected by the people nor have the people a say.

i know that, i didnt say they are dictator now.
i just dont get it why they are celecrated nowadays.
I dont say punish them for the deeds of their ancestors, i just think they should not be regarded as royal and celebrated as if they are doing any thing of significance.

Well, I have no problem with you being opposed to a hereditary monarchy (something I'm still in two minds about myself), but it doesn't help to refer to it as something which it is not. We in the UK have not had anyone that could be called a dictator for the best part of a thousand years (if ever, depending on your definition of "dictator").

no i didnt, and you even quoted the posts where i didn't.

What part of "for me Monarchs are Dictators" means that you don't think our monarch is a dictator?

they are not monarchs any more, they are celebreties and royals, Monarchs are rulers, and the queens is not a ruler.
