Why is homosexuality wrong?

XenonII said:
Acting on a sexual desire for the same sex is what is a sin. Everyone is born with a sinful nature, however just because someone has a sexual desire for the same sex doesn't mean they have to act upon it or should act upon it!

So... by this, I'm assuming you actually do have a sexual desire for the same sex? This either makes you bisexual or homosexual.

Meanwhile, I'm straight (more or less), and can find only females desirable in a sexual way.

Dude... you really need to stop repressing yourself. You're just hurting yourself. Homosexuals aren't parading around their "sinful" nature because they love "sinning" (You be surprised by this, but not everyone thinks like you or believes what you do), but because they're free of the very repression you're forcing on yourself. They're actually happy with their lives, and if they weren't, then why the hell are they throwing pride parades? They're not throwing "gay sad parades".

You're really just hurting yourself by denying what you really are, and hiding behind a book because you feel it'll make you feel better about yourself. It won't.

So tell me Xenon - do you still kill disobedient children (Deut 21:18-21)? Should a woman who doesn't cry out loud enough when she is raped be put to death (Deut 22:23-24)? If your brother dies without having first had a son, will you marry his wife (Deut 25:5-7)?

Xenon, Do you eat shellfish and trim the edges of your beard? If you do, then you are a hypocrite for calling women who wear men's clothing sinners. If you do not kill disobedient children, you are a hypocrite. If you do not marry your deceased brother's wife, you are a hypocrite.

You know what Jesus said about hypocrites, don't you?

I'm not advocating that homosexuals should be put to death. God relieved society of that task in the New Testament. What i'm saying is that homosexuality remains a sin. Homosexuality is condemned in no uncertain terms throughout the New Testament. They are worthy of death as is any unrepentant sinner.

Now being a transvestite is still a sin and just because its socially acceptable nowadays for women to dress up like men (personally I think it's gross and un-ladylike) doesn't make it right or acceptable in the eyes of God. Society calls a lot of things that are evil nowadays good, this is an example of that and God warned us this very thing would happen in the end times that we now face ourselves in.

What if they're repentant? I haven't done any field research, I admit, but I imagine they call out to God no less frequently than do heterosexuals.

...snip...

A case of love the sin, hate the sinner maybe?

So what exactly counts as dessing up like a man? You do realise that our natural state is, in fact, naked? Wearing any clothes is unnatural. Clothes didn't appear by magic with labels saying "male" and "female" on them, they have changed quite a lot over the years. If you're going to base your views on clothing on the bible, shouldn't you condem anyone who wears anything other than sandles and a toga? Even if you assume that modern clothing is what god intended us to wear all along, does that mean we should be stoning people for wearing jeans and t-shirts? Sounds a little excessive really.

God did not create any human being as a homosexual. They are not born that way, just as murderers are not born that way. Homosexuality is a chosen lifestyle, a rebellion against the Almighty. God created Adam and Eve NOT Adam and Steve!
So you choose to think a lot about gay anal sex?

That's certainly true for in the beginning, however he obviously did create the other races later otherwise they wouldn't exist today.
Nice choice of words. Let me give a try:

That's certainly true for in the beginning, however he obviously did create homosexuals later otherwise they wouldn't exist today.

Yeah! Post Hoc rationalization if fun!!!

Actually comparing the so-called civil rights movement of the 1960's with the current homosexual special rights movement of the 2000's is not a bad analogy. No one was denying blacks the privelege of marriage as long as they married someone of the same race. Whites had the same restriction placed on them, so no one was denying blacks a right that anyone else had that they did not. No one was saying to blacks you can't marry just stick to your own like whites had to do as well. The fact that some blacks didn't want to marry their own kind is irrelevant. Homosexuals don't want to marry the opposite sex either but why should marriage be radically redefined to suit the whims of a tiny twisted minority?

Wow this is the first time I have seen this argument presented seriously instead of reductio ad absurdum.

Why is it that liberals claim to support diversity UNLESS its racial diversity?

Why is it that people from the lunatic fringe always assume that anyone who disagrees with them is from the complete opposite of the socio-political spectrum?

Not only do I frequently indulge in sex for recreational as opposed to procreational purposes, I am of mixed race. Now if I could only find some other women to jump into a shower with, I would be Xenon II's worst nightmare.

Heh heh heh.

Well you're certainly welcome to bring her on by and join us all in the shower.:D

Wow. Keep up the good work, gang. Even if he's not a parody, I am still laughing my ar$e off. Getting back to the matter at hand...

Okay. Let's just assume that homosexuality is a choice. Even if the latest scientific data would say otherwise, let's just go with the outdated belief that homosexuality stems from a cold mother. Just for poops and giggles.

Religion is also a choice. You choose what god or gods or pasta to believe in. Having a non-Christian religion is so terrible, it's one of the Ten Commandments. Now, even though we live in a country with the freedom of religion, would you say that two full grown Muslims can't marry? Hell, just like gays are pedophiles, Muslims are terrorists, right? Their existance is an abomination, and their expression of love for one another should not be recognised in the eyes of the law.

And I am still trying to wrap my head around being considered unladylike for wearing trousers... You know, I think Xenon needs to move to Iran. There are no gays there, and women are forced to follow a strict dress code.

I get confused sometimes by a few of the slogans used by the devoutly Jeebustarian folks. For example they seem to love to say that "God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve". It's got that whole mindless mime thing going. And mindless seems a prerequisite at times for popular religious slogans.

So the first clause seems to establish that God made Adam. Then in the second clause we learn that God did not make the sum of Adam and Steve. So if God did make Adam, but she did not make both of Adam and Steve, then it seems that she did not make Steve.

I happen to be Steve, and it is honestly not a matter of Lifestyle Choice. If I had chosen to be Steve I feel certain I'd remember having made that choice, yet I have no such memory. I'm not sure if my Steveness occurred prenatally, perhaps by exposure to anti-boychild maternal hormonal reactions, or if I became Steve as a result of some postnatal event influenced by my parents.

But the fact remains, here I am, as Steve as any guy could be. I'm so Steve I'm a bit light in my loafers, I admit that, but the big question still remains. Who made Steve?
