Who's going to TAM4?

Oh, I think it went pretty well - except that we ended up at that Thai place again.

And now I´ll duck as well.

Oh I'm not saying her technique doesn't get results... but it is rather like using a flame thrower to light a candle...

No, you'll be the duck. Any which way, you're going again. And this time, you will taste a 4-strength. Yes, something slightly more spicy than homeopathic water.

"Homeopathic beer", you mean - that´s water. "Homeopathic water" is an empty glass.

Pbbbbt.

As we all know, renata will wind up taking over the entire meeting, bossing people around, forcing them to eat chocolate only using her rules, etc.

"no organizing of any kind" indeed.

need to try and find SOME way to draw Renata out of her shell. It's sad to see such a nice person so very repressed.

Well personally I would describe renata's approach to organising as "no organizing of any kind" - now I'll duck.

:nope:

Well, isn't this just precious. Both MCs as well as forum admin all agreeing on something. I guess they don't want to crash the Pajama Party this year. And it is obvious they do not place a high value on their limbs. :crc:

I wasn't there last time but I was there the time before that. I didn't find the food at the thai place to be all that hot, mildly tingly at best. For TAM 4 I'm going to have to find a way to transport something I cook so you will know what hot food really is,bwahahahahahahahahaha.

I absolutely can't wait for TAM4. I booked my room at the Stardust almost 2 months ago, and have the distinct honor of reserving the very first of the rooms set aside for this event.

Even though this will be my first Amaz!ng Meeting, I've been a huge fan fo Randi and Phil Plait for quite a while. Not to mention, of course, everyone else that's going...except for Hal...

I'm happy that the Bad Astronomer is going too. See you there Phil!

missed this little gem earlier. OK, TJ, I'll happily stay away from you, though I don't know who you are.

I am planning on going. I have never be to a TAM nor have I been to Vegas. So I think it would be fun trip for me, I might even have to take an extra day or two just to enjoy what Vegas has to offer.

Has anybody written a "TAM survival guide?"

Chaos thinks that a pinch of salt in a huge pot of water is "spicy". :p

(Then I will have to taunt you some more)

I take it you will not volunteer as a taster for the Tam 4 Chili cook-off. You don't know what you are missing.

Sure, he will. We will drag him along, screaming and kicking.

And then, he will see the light. Or, rather: Taste it.

I'll be at TAM IV, and I am hoping to be able to spend a little more time with forumites than I did last year. I am sooooo excited about the speakers this year! Every year gets better and better...

I'll also be back down working in the JREF office in-between traveling places to look for rocks and trying to graduate from college and such, so I'll have a hand in some of the planning.

I'll likely be making up the name badges this year, Claus. If I don't, Linda will. Instruct us as necessary. :-)

Can you also make a restraining order for Claus and Nyar? They scare me.

I will be most happy to boss the two of you around. ;)

Got a design for it?

Oh, come on, you wimp! Spice is the spice of life!

You only had a 3 at Lotus of Siman, IIRC, and that's nothing.

Nothing.

Well- It was a nice idea while it lasted. Too many people would have to cooperate and too many things would have to go exactly right, for me to get there. So I've decided to back out.

The clincher was realising there's a solar eclipse visible from the rig on March 26th 06. If I could make the schedule changes required for TAM, I'd miss the chance to see that, as well as losing both Christmas and New Year, which I should get at home this year.

Can't win them all. :(

I so want to go...but alas, the gods have dealt me an unfair hand this time.

If I'm successful in being accepted into ANU next year, I'll be starting a degree early January. If not, I'll be working here still.

I do promise that I'll be going to TAM5, though. I'm still planning on trying to organise some sort of education workshop for it.

I will be there, but I probably won't be hosting any Maple Syrup events as I'll be working behind the scenes.

I WILL, however, WITHOUT FAIL, render unto Renata the Maple Sugar Candy that I so calously neglected to present to her at the Skeptics Conference at CalTech.

(Of course if she'd just give me her damn address, I could mail them to her.)

One more example of the superiority of NH to VT. Ren did not go without Maple Sugar following the conference...
