Who's going to TAM4?

Nyarlathotep and I are planning on attending with our eldest daughter, who used to post here as Schizobunny. If we don't attend, I am sure that my daughter will make me truely regret it. :D

I wonder if we can get some more of the JREF Gods to attend, Mr Skinny, Ed, Yahweh and so on. It could be fun guessing which one smote which speaker…

Well, they do sell them in the forzen foods, so if you have access to a microwave....:D ;)

No, they have to be fresh.

.........what am I saying? White Castle burgers are NEVER fresh... :D

We could have a panel where the gods discuss atheism. It would confuse the heck out of people.

Like Chani said, we'll be there with our 15 year old daughter in tow (n.b. i am quite protective and enjoy removing 'roving' eyes and stringing them into necklaces). I'm looking forward to it, a lot, not only for the convention itself but to meet a lot of you I haven't met and to catch up with some of you we met at TAM 2.

TAM virgin...trying to decide if I should go...

Anyone from Victoria or Vancouver going?

Are Canucks even allowed?? I *promise* to leave all the disgruntled bovine back home....

However, after reading some of the posts I'm beginning to think this group is going to be nothing but trouble. TROUBLE, I tell ya!

Which makes me want to go even more.

There were quite a few Canadians at TAM3. They were reasonably well-behaved, so we allowed them to attend.

Well we needed someone to do the menial jobs...

First-Time Attendee

I will be going with my 16-year old son. I won't know anyone, so be nice if you see a bewildered-looking female. It might be me . . .

Please don't hesitate to introduce yourself. In my experience, the Amazing Meetings in Las Vegas were the most friendly, welcoming meetings that I've ever attended, with a very high "good guys-to-jerks" ratio. There are folks that hang around together, but generally you won't find people who are cliquish.

That's the impression I got at TAM3. I don't think I met any of the forum members, but the folks I did meet were very open and friendly. In fact, the first person I did meet was Richard Dawkins! pretty cool way to start the conference.

I tend to be pretty shy about walking up to folks and just introducing myself. Maybe this time I'll crawl out of the cave a little more and say hi to some of you folks.

BTW, this would count as an "I'm going too" vote. :)

I'm going too!!!!

I absolutely can't wait for TAM4. I booked my room at the Stardust almost 2 months ago, and have the distinct honor of reserving the very first of the rooms set aside for this event.

Even though this will be my first Amaz!ng Meeting, I've been a huge fan fo Randi and Phil Plait for quite a while. Not to mention, of course, everyone else that's going...except for Hal...

I'm happy that the Bad Astronomer is going too. See you there Phil!

Registration sent. All good.

ETA- And I am not organizing anything. For real this time. I asked Mercutio to hit me on the head any time he sees me try to organize anything. Absolutely no organizing of any kind whatsoever. Yep. :j2:

Pbbbbt.

As we all know, renata will wind up taking over the entire meeting, bossing people around, forcing them to eat chocolate only using her rules, etc.

"no organizing of any kind" indeed.

And TJ, that's cool. See you there! And I looked at your blog; the KY picture is HYSTERICAL.

Hmph. Some guarantee. As of this writing, there is no guarantee I will be there at all. Too many variables still unknown.

I'd have said earlier, but I didn't want to make Darat too happy...

:p

I think I should go, being a speaker and the Friday MC and all. And, as the only non-atheist on the program that day, well, should be interesting.

Plus, Phil needs me.

also, I need to try and find SOME way to draw Renata out of her shell. It's sad to see such a nice person so very repressed.

Careful Hal, you don't want to get too involved. You might end up with another fan club... :D

Looks like I've talked the wife into going. All it took was to show her the Mythbusters will be there.

I hope Jeff Wagg can coax a few of our fellow Card Clinic '05 gang into making the "reunion" trip. Cards and beer in Las Vegas. I'm gettin' all choked-up just thinking about it.

Well personally I would describe renata's approach to organising as "no organizing of any kind" - now I'll duck.

Oh, I think it went pretty well - except that we ended up at that Thai place again.

And now I´ll duck as well.

No, you'll be the duck. Any which way, you're going again. And this time, you will taste a 4-strength. Yes, something slightly more spicy than homeopathic water.
