True to the personality disorder he has, Trump is saying today that he saved Miss Universe from being fired, and look how unfairly he's being treated now for saving her job.

I think he'll threaten to do it, but chicken out on the stage. I imagine that he's frightened by the prospect that he has no idea how Clinton would respond to that. He knows it wouldn't provoke her, he know she'll be prepared for it, but he can't figure out how she would respond.

On the other hand we are talking about Trump. He might imagine there are only two or three reactions and also imagine that all of them favor Himself. If Trump has an audience and a microphone then there are very few things that he is afraid to assert.

The next "townhall" debate will be pretty dangerous for Trump: if he gets positive feedback for his nonsense, we might get some nasty soundbites.

Anderson Cooper and Martha Raddatz moderating.
A couple of dozen questions provided by citizens.

There is the possibility Trump walks away before (or during), all the while shouting about how unfair the moderators are. The debate is on a Sunday (Oct 9).

I had been holding back on labeling Trump a drama queen, but I think the preponderance of evidence supports the assertion. The first definition I found was a person who habitually responds to situations in a melodramatic way.

[already discussed in related threads] Trump tossed in an aside reference to the recent run-ins that U.S. warships have had with Iranian attack boats in the Persian Gulf. During those encounters, small Iranian speedboats controlled by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, which opposes the country’s nuclear deal with the U.S., have harassed U.S. ships in ways the Navy has deemed “unsafe and unprofessional.” Said Trump, to the delight of the crowd, “When [the Iranians] circle our beautiful destroyers with their little boats, and they make gestures at our people that they shouldn’t be allowed to make, they will be shot out of the water.”

It is hard to get more melodramatic than responding to a country's unsafe and unprofessional actions with shooting their boats out of the water. I was also a bit fascinated by the claim that foreign powers' militaries should not be allowed to make certain gestures at the US military.

A woman moderator? How can it have come to this. Presumably she will asking the penetrating questions such as "will you change the colour of the curtains in the oval office?"

Well unless she is menstruating and then of course she won't be there being confined at home.

:jaw-dropp

Fired by whom?

IIRC, she was Miss Universe in the first edition that was organized by Trump. So the person who could have fired her was... Trump.

Along with the people who counted her blinks and his sniffles and his interruptions, did anybody count how many times he referred to one international treaty or another as the worst ever (or something else close like "one of the worst ever" or "maybe the worst ever")? He certainly said it a bunch of times, but I'm not sure how many separate specific treaties that was; I recall only two in particular that he kept coming back to (NAFTA and Iran nukes).

For someone who wants to make it such a big deal in his campaign that the USA has kept making bad deals and letting others take advantage of us, he seems reluctant to ever explain exactly what was wrong with the Worst Ever...

That's similar to his "best..." everything. He lives and speaks in the hyperbole of a sports fan. The team you're cheering on is always the best ever. The "Miracle Mets" were the best! That year. But you sit in the stands or in a sports bar and you'll hear more "best" and "worst"(about the opposition of about your third baseman who just booted a routine grounder).

This kind of stuff works on The View. When you're discussing the future of the country and how to govern it or not govern it, you should leave the pom poms at home.

I was thinking all they had to do was get a psych consult and voìla, Trump was in the trap.

Bet you Clinton's team does it again on the 9th.

Yep. They still have several areas that were unexplored. They know what buttons to push. Can the rely on the wild success of the first debate? I dunno. I didn't think that get him to go off the deep end in the first one, even for a few minutes much less an entire week. Should Kaine be practicing Trump One Liners? Maybe he can get him Tweeting-Out during the VP debates.

Does Cuban have a few million lying around or burning a hole in his pocket? How much would it cost to defend Ivana or Marla? Or you could just pay Marla a million to show up at the Town Hall. Just to sit there. Watch Donnie NOT go to the Unfaithful Card if Marla's there to repeat her NY Post headline "Best Sex I Ever Had" from when Donald still had Mrs. Ivana Trump and the Trumpelina kids at home.

I hate how superficial the coverage is, and how the press (and even we critical thinkers) overlook vitally important factors. I aim to rectify that.

While a lot has been made over Trump's sniffing, I haven't seem mention of how severely he sucked in his cheeks when he sniffed. It was disturbing.

Alec Baldwin should have done a line of blow while he was playing Trump on SNL.
