Who are your favorite and least favorite painters?

Like: Realists. Any of the realists, but I am especially fond of the old Dutch masters.
Dislike: Impressionists. No interested in any of them.

In particular, many of the Impressionists, with Monet and Renoir at the top.

Monet could do Tommy Cooper OK, but his Jimmy Cagney was terrible.

Favs include Monet and most impressionists, love the period. Can't stand cubism either, though I respect the attempt to "stretch the boundaries" and all.
Much (most?) so-called "modern art" is IMO crapola. I'm reminded of the pig (or was it an elephant) someone "taught" to paint and they later showed it to people included people allegedly well-versed in art and more than a few hailed it because (blah blah insert pompous art gibberish here, man's inhumanity to man or whatnot). This kind of pretentious idiocy has been going on for decades, unfortunately.

These are the first intelligent words I have heard all day! Somewhat like what I've wanted to say for a long while but didn't know how to say it. I don't much care for impressionism but I'll try to just to show my support of your opinion of "modern art". This is art?????
