Merged whirlpower /another whirlpool thread

Why do galaxies always spin ? what is spinning them ? Is it perptual motion or is something else? How long could a hurricane last if it never passed over land . Would it grow stronger and stronger. Jupiter has had the same hurricane for hundreds of years( the great red spot)

How about gravity and angular momentum?
Jupiter rotates quite rapidly and it is a gaseous giant, so the great red spot will continue as long as the planet rotates rapidly.

Yet another good article that has nothing to do with your whirlpool non-science.

Is this the extent of your intelligence - the ability to use Google to find web pages with the word whirlpool or vortex and post random links from the 1000's of results?

no its the extent of yours. my non science cannot be backed up by google because its beyond google its in my head These links are signs that science is begining to catch on to something potentially spectacular

The conservation of angular momentum (you should learn some physics or at least watch some ice skating).

Nothing to do with this topic but: Yes it would grow until it ran out of energy from the ocean.

"its in my head" - at last you get something right!
And nothing to do with the actual observed universe that science is involved with.

A 22 Sept. 1931 patent is "science is begining to catch on to something potentially spectacular"? What a joke!

Do you enjoy living in your own little reality? Do you see any science article with even the word vortex or whirlpool or spin as evidence?

None of these links or your so-called examples even come close as evidence of your claims of whirlpool energy. Please at least learn some physics because you sound delusional, arrogant and downright ignorant.

With a little bit of thought, you should be able to see that the last sentence in your post answers your question on hurricanes...

Well it's spectacular how little you understand what you are drivelling about.
Your links in no way whatsoever back up the imagined science in your head.

That's really all there is to it.

Of course, for fun, if you really were serious about this - choose the best link that backs up your 'theory' and describe how you believe it works, or describe the evidence in your own words.
That would be a way of attempting to demonstrate you had the first clue about any of the links you have provided.

Because as it stands it is obvious you don't.

I recall a scene from an old film about Babe Ruth in which a women (who knows little and cares even less about baseball) helps him realize why he is not dominant pitcher he once was. Because of her " IGNORANCE " it only took her 10 seconds to figure it out. In other words I agree that I have been guilty of being ignorant enough times that I should know better than to act arrogant please forgive me. But I believe sometimes too much knowlegde of one subject can bound the mind . So don't punish me for being ignorant of trivial info. Albert Einstein himself admitted he could'nt tell you off hand how many feet are in a mile because he didn't like cluttering his mind with minute details, but he knew where to find the answer in his notes. I admit I suffer from beaten poster syndrome , so I know I am asking for it everytime I click submit reply. But will all you professional skeptical intellectuals cut a bricklayer some slack, on second thought, BRING IT ON its only way to refine my Whizdumb.

By the way the Great Bambino holds the record for most strikeouts. Its the price you pay for aiming far.

Did any one at least perform the experiment.

We use a bathtub to water our horses and one day as I was filling up I noticed tiny black dots appearing and disappearing so I went inside filled up our personal tub to get a better look because the other was kinda dirty. I saw them again and realized it whirlpools were causing them then I turn out the lights and shined a flashlight on the tub. Anybody who does this for themselves cannot honestly tell me that it doesn't remind them of a scene from a NOVA episode when they show images of black holes. We all agree the Milky Way Galaxy don't need no freekin generator to spin it . Is it possible that a whirlpool created under the right conditions might spin by itself as well Some one said in a post angular momentum spins galaxies . Does angular momentum occur in water or is it called something else ( And don't say its called angler momentum cause fisherman don't like whirlpools )

Angular momentum occurs in all spinning objects including good old whirlpools in water.

I placed a football shaped magnet on top of a tupperware lid then begin trying to see how fast and long I could make it spin by twirling an identical magnet underneath it. I was suprised to find that my best spin was an accident. A swipe consisting of only couple of centimeters across underneath the magnet caused it to spin really fast instantly, but it didn,t last long because I didn't hold it level very long so it crashed it to the wall of the container. Is angular momentum responsible for how half a revolution of motion from one magnet caused hundreds possibly thousands of revolutions upon another magnet
