Where's FamilyRadio.com today?

Well, it's always the other guy's interpretation that's obviously, patently ridiculous.

Ad nauseum
Camping is not the only one who computes "scary numbers." Some NASA revisions have been done regarding the trajectory of comet Elenin.
""these are my calculations, but I've revised the 0.24AU's down to
0.0004617 AU's on 21.42pm 16th Oct 2011 (pretty god dam close!)"

Looks like Camping's "final hours" of October 21 were 5 days off.

The rapture was a fun little social anomaly while it was happening (not happening?) Today it's just sad. Hoping to get raptured is basically hoping for a painless suicide for you and yours with a side of hell on earth for the rest. In a perfect world, the bulk of Camping's rapture profits would go towards getting his followers treatment for depression.

I'm sorry, but I couldn't hear you through the peals of laughter resounding worldwide since Saturday at 6pm caused by...Camping's 'calculations.'

When you're pinpointing the end of the world, close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

By the way, epix, the crazy at this site (http://www.rabbithole2.com/index.htm) is so thick that I can't even see though it. It's a solid, inpenetrable structure made entirely of Alex Jones-like woo woo. Yes, 9-11 Twoof makes an appearence. Yes, chemtrails do as well.

What did these people do before they started plucking catch-phrases out of The Matrix and calling it "research?"

The wecanknow.com core explanatory document (linked at the bottom of their home page), is no longer linked.
http://www.the-latter-rain.com/can-we-know-when.html

I read this last week before it disappeared. They actually had some mitigating text in there, talking about the May 21 date as the 'most likely' date.

However, http://www.the-latter-rain.com/ itself has been updated with their own thoughts for the fail.

From the bottom link

Harold Camping has always said, "Don't trust me; trust the Bible." Have I placed too much trust in a teacher? If so, that's my fault, not Harold Camping's.

Its his fault for following the con artist but the con artist is hardly blameless.

I really don't understand why anyone follows these end of the world predictions. NOT A SINGLE ONE HAS EVER COME TRUE!!!

His disciples are out to get their money/goods back.
No wonder the old scam artist is in hiding

Some of the doomsayers are more than eager to blow up a possible differences in projected Elenin's trajectory, the same way the atheists would make far reaching conclusion about a dude who needed some cash so he started to predict.

That "woo-woo" site just rehashed what appeared on the NASA site, which you failed to mention.

Btw, some folks must have gotten pissed.
http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/149641/20110521/harold-camping-liar-doomsday.htm

Media love doom-saying, coz folks love doom-saying, so the story spread. Camping never believed his prediction -- it was designed to boost the donation flow -- that's all.

Now I let myself amuse by all the speculations regarding the impact of the failed prediction on the world religions delivered to me via the naive atheists.

Ignoring the lack of grammar in that sentence, where do you see all this speculation?

There is one thread here asking whether people thought it would have any impact, and the general consensus seemed to be "no, it will not."

You are seeing what you want to see.

Nothing has appalled me more about this whole incident than the number of comments I've read since Saturday of how "disappointed" Camping's followers are that the end hasn't come. Being disappointed that 6.8 billion of your fellow human beings aren't going to spend half a year in torment before being utterly
wiped out of existence strikes me as the pinnacle of sociopathic misanthropy.

I would have loved to hear just one person report, "I'm so glad we were wrong about this! I was really going to miss my family!"
