I think you can only ride that train so many times.

Also the Republican debates weren't really debates. Trump was always on the stage with 7 people "stunned at the the fact" they were on the stage with this clown. They were deer in the headlights against Tump's insults

Note* Trump has never had to be on the stage "one on one" with anyone in a real debate. Also what plays to the Republican base does not play to the general population.

I'm often amazed at how gullible the people can be sometimes. But still, overall I don't think they're this gullible. They'll sniff out that Trump is just a slick huckster way outside his element.

I hope

Sadly, it doesn't matter. Die Hard Republicans will Vote for Trump because he's the nominee. No other reason. Same as how Die Hard Democrats will vote Hillary, because she's the nominee.

It only matters to the independents. And it seems that many of those don't like either candidate.

The answer is: The British Colonies of East and West Florida.

Huh, the Big Dog thought you would get that one.

Until next time, this has been Are You Smarter than a Major Party Candidate.

Yeah, they were British colonies that didn't join the revolution. Thus, not included in the thirteen stripes of bloody bandage for the colonies that did.

No one's credited the funniest line of the night... maybe the convention, yet?

He spoke for seventy-odd minutes..... and I do mean "odd".

Kudos to the writer who came up with that.

Hm.

First it was 13 Colonies (wrong)
Then 13 British Colonies (wrong again)
and then: There were 13 British colonies on North American soil that eventually joined the United States....There were other British colonies, not on contiguous North American soil, that didn't join us. We don't count them.

Also wrong.

just saying. The good news? You learned something today

Rule of 16.5: False superiority. No citations in evidence.

Too bad her robotic delivery and dead eyes slaughtered the delivery.

Good botox job, tho.

Please tell me what the hell you're talking about? You seem to have found the edge of a loose sticker and keep picking at it, but I don't see what it is you're scratching at.

absolutely, she is TERRIBLE at speaking off the cuff. That is why she refuses to give press conferences and does not take questions that have not been vetted by her staff.

I'd be terrified if I was a Shillary, because Hillary is going to get a real wake up call when Trump starts treating her with the contempt she richly deserves.

The more you whine, the more obvious it is that the Democrats had one hell of a convention.
The tears of impotent rage. Tasty!

:D I see 16.5 doing a lot of schooling here. Unfortunately, I don't see a lot of learning.

I was partial to Obama:

See my grandparents, they came from the heartland; their ancestors began settling there about 200 years ago. I don’t know if they had their birth certificates--but they were there.

It's gonna suck to see him go.

Oh dear... your search engines are broken.

Oh, well let me give you a link that you could have found had they not been broken.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Florida

Just "click" on that link.

Godspeed and good luck with the internet

Nobody is disputing that East Florida existed. We are disputing your assertion that some number of colonies other than 13 should be included in references to "the colonies" colloquially by an average American in random context. You've never explained the context within which you think we should count other colonies, and I've tried several times to clarify. Apparently clarification of an ambiguous point deserves some kind of mockery or dismissal. I don't get that part yet. But instead of helping clarify you've turned it into some kinda 20 questions guessing game.

Why should east Florida be counted as anything in any way upthread of this post?

Oooh, wikipedia! I wonder if they have a link for what you claim is wrong: Thirteen Colonies. Well, whadya know!

Bingo!

Besides these thirteen colonies, Britain had another dozen in the New World. Those in the British West Indies, Newfoundland, the Province of Quebec, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Bermuda, and East and West Florida remained loyal to the crown throughout the war (although Spain conquered Florida before the war was over). There was a certain degree of sympathy with the Patriot cause in several of the other colonies, but their geographical isolation and the dominance of British naval power precluded any effective participation.[3] The British crown had only recently acquired those lands, and many of the issues facing the Thirteen Colonies did not apply to them, especially in the case of Quebec and Florida.[4]

What indeed do ya know.

Thanks for having my back.

Rule of 16.5: False Superiority (illusory Superiority)

Protip: Arrogance won't win you friends, nor will it influence people.

Here you go! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thirteen_Colonies. Now, if you click the link (place your cursor over the highlighted link, and click once with your right mouse button), you'll see the listing of the 13 colonies, showing quadraginta to be correct.

Now you know! And knowing is half the battle!

Yes, some people do have poor performances while contemplating past defeats and stsring future defeats straight in the eye. But they can always fall back on botox jokes.

Back in reality, Hillary got a lifetime of public service rewarded with kind words and support of the multitudes she helped throughout her career, made History as the first woman in America to be nominated to be President by a major party, and caused a bigger epidemic of heartburn in America since a nice black family moved into the White House.

Too bad her robotic delivery and dead eyes slaughtered the delivery.

Sniff. She doesn't call. She doesn't write.

I've explained. She's moved on, son. It's time to let go. She belongs to the ages, now. I'm sure she remembers you fondly, but she chose Bubba.

But the good news.... Barack's going to be looking for a groundskeeper for the new Obama Library near you. Maybe you could do some volunteer work to take your mind off your heartbreak. Bring that dulled rapier wit of yours over and trade bon mots with the scholars at U. of Chicago.

well obviously because it was a British colony on contiguous North American soil that eventually joined the United States.

"Schooling" involves presentation of information, not chucking rocks at random pedestians.

Perhaps another perspective can help. Can you explain what 16.5 is talking about? Why should a reference to "the colonies" in a context of the United States include any number other than 13?
