Another good political book is 1984 by George Orwell. We can only hope that things don't get this bad; unfortunately, it is becoming clearer that many of the events described in this book, even if not inevitable, are at least within the realm of possibility.
Nah. Orwell was one of the many men of his generation who got brainwashed by marxism as a young man, but eventually became a great critic of it in "1984" and "animal farm" - "Big Brother" for example, was modeled on Stalin. The great communist experiment of the 20th century now survives mostly in only cuba, north korea, and a few american academicians. The credit for that is due to a great many people who fought it steadfastly for decades, mostly americans, and notably Ronald Reagan.
