It wouldn't have been hard. This thread started a long time ago and many times got lost in the "fog".

I'm interested in the update! Like I said, I was promoted to captain in April of 2008, and I have served in a new unit (my old one was inactivated) as the HHC commander and assistant brigade S-2 (intelligence officer). In my civilian life, I've been on projects at a total of four government agencies (about six projects total) and am getting ready to join a fifth agency for a temporary project.

Sorry, guys; I didn't get the update out as I said I would. I'm on the tail end of a cold and don't have much energy as a result. I will get an update out soon, though.

I'm not sure it even matters much at this point...

Soon it will be 10 years of failure.....10 years of nothing from the truthers (I can't even call it a movement since they don't really DO anything)...

Despite all of the expertise seen on this website....there are only a few real qualifications as far as debating truthers go....

1. Not a moron.
2. Not delusional.

That pretty much sums it up....

So instead of me updating my expertise (which I can't do on a public forum anyway)...I will just say that I am still...

While I don't disagree with what you say, newton3376, if you'll forgive me I won't put that in the list. It is, in my opinion, perilously close to a "reverse ad-hom".

I do think that, if not now, there certainly was a time when expertise was required to explain the physics and engineering involved, particularly to the layperson such as myself. This is why I appreciate seeing the diverse expertise here, in all fields from aviation to chemistry.

I understand you not putting it on the list....

And I do agree with you that expertise IS required to explain the physics and engineering involved.

Expertise is also required at times to show exactly why and where the truthers go wrong....some of their arguments sound technical, despite having math errors, physics errors, errors in assumptions, erros in the conclusions, etc.

So I do agree that the expertise list here can be useful....heck I even added my own experience to the list.

My post before this one was just me complaining about the truthers.

All of my adult life, and a decent portion of my teenage years being spend around and being involved in film production. And more specifically, low budget quick money film production. ( the kind of people that sell to lions gate all those movies you felt ripped off after renting. )

I could smell loose change coming after the title card, lol.

Ill bet the hallmark channel keeps you busy. My wife tortured me watching all those feelgood Christmas eve miracle themed cheap movies over the holidays,
 
Since the 9/11 sub-forum is my main interest here and the reason why I signed up for the JREF forum, I might add my expertise, which is non-specific to any field of study directly relevant to the topic:

- Having physics and math as elected subjects with double credit hours, I finished high school in the top 1% of my class
- "Vordiplom" in business administration from Universität Bielefeld, Germany (my Vordiplom was accepted as sufficient to enroll in Graduate School)
- Master of Applied Mathematical Sciences in Management Science from the University of Georgia.
- 9 months Military duty in Flying Squadron 3, Stan/Eval office, at the NATO E-3A compound in Geilenkirchen, Germany (that's the AWACS fleet for Europe). There, I learned a little beyond layman's level about flying, including the chance to be passenger in B707 cockpits and play a bit with a "real" flight simulator.
- 16 years professional experience as IT coordinator and IT project manager
