She foolishly decided to stay off the campaign trail. When you leave the entire media to reports on her scandals and Trump stories, both pro and con, you've ceded the microphone and the sound byte. Letting Trump shoot himself in the foot worked better before he had pathological liars organizing the spin. They've been very good at it since the change. He's been able to withstand a relatively disastrous fortnight because the drip-drip-drip of the emails is getting more airplay. You'd think she'd noticed that she took over the airwaves with one little speech in Nevada. But then she went back to fundraising, leaving Trump's minions to defend and build on the Will He/Won't He suspense of The Great Immigration Scam of '16.
