I'm not interested in this silly pile of poo.

What I don't like is people going on and ON about the same thing.

And believe me, I know exactly what I'm talking about.

Another one on the old ignore list. . . oh well

And the funny thing is, nobody's brought up Palestine, gun control, or Kerry's Vietnam service, any of which I'd have said were absolutely vital in derailing a thread to this extent.

Another Randi skeptic who believes it's okay for them to act like thugs, but not anyone else I see.
So, tell me, were you too stupid to understand what H3LL posted, or is the halfwitted gibble you've made out of it a deliberate lie?

I thought turtles had shells on their backs, not chips on their shoulders.

Cool. When a poster lacks the ability to engage in logical debate and in the end can only respond with smilies you know that person is one person you want to put you on ignore.

Thanks turtle.

Funny you should mention L Ron. I have always understood that years before officially discovering the secrets of the religions that they started, both Joseph Smith and L Ron published their (not yet discovered! :D) ideas in science fiction novels.

Robert A. Heinlein missed a chance to really cash in on Martian Groking.;)

If you scroll down to about the middle of this page there's a section headed 'A word about Mormonism and Science Fiction"

http://www.shunn.net/writing/clarion/clarion2.html

(The article as a whole is his experience at clarion as a seventeen year old Mormon). Very interesting.

There is a definite congruency with world building and religion creation, world building being an essential skill in Science Fiction writing. Heinlein (one of Hubbard’s contemporaries) was certainly aware of the potential for creating a movement based on one or more of his novels.

A religion on one of his works has been in place for 35 years now:

I have no idea what Heinlein thought of it, but he never profited from it.

Yah, I kind of knew about this—back in the 1980s. I had no idea they were still around. Thanks!

Getting back to the Mormons....

"A clash over the federal government's right to lease a national historic site in Wyoming to the Mormon Church moved to court Wednesday as the American Civil Liberties Union (news - web sites) filed suit, arguing that the government violated the constitutional bar against endorsing religion....

....One of the plaintiffs in the suit, Susan M. Wozny of Laramie, Wyo., who is not Mormon, said that when she visited the site in August, she was repeatedly asked by Mormon guides about her religious affiliation and was barred from an area of the trail. She said she was told that Mormons had died there and it was "sacred" and "hallowed ground."...."

Turtle's ego is much bigger and more important than those things.

As is yours, since you cannot resist the urge to fan flames four days later, just to get in one more of your nasty abusive little digs.

JFC, pathetic! And yet, oh so mildly amusing. . .:D

Ah yes, the wit and wisdom of turtle.

:s2:
Wrong. I have not fanned the flames, four days later, you have. So try again, fancy pants.

And stop wasting everyone's time with your senseless abuses.

I did not say that you have "fanned the flames".

I rather gathered that you were saying something similar about me, though, as in the phrase
since you cannot resist the urge to fan flames
I really wonder why you keep exposing yourself as a liar in this way. Everyone who reads this thread can tell which of us made that post. It's the username at the side that's the giveaway.

Well, my own damn fault for taking you off ignore, I admit.

I didn't say you said I fanned flames or whatever stupid abusive bullying crap you're spouting off now.

It doesn't make me a liar, you ignorant pig of a twit, when I state the facts of your posting your own damn posts.

You're a worthless piece of dung. Give it up *******. Yeah, that's right, I said *******. OOOOOooooooo, will this mean JREF will ban me? Or put me on moderation? That's what you want, of course.

Well, I ain't too worried, dog breath, since the mods here seem to do precious little about bad behavior. If they did, you would not be allowed to continue with your crap.

Buzz off, you vile filled trough of puke. You have nohting better to do, sad. So sad. It's a Sat. night, why are you here instead of going out and having a good time? Or did you already pay her off and she left?

Take responsibility. Oh, sorry, forgot. You're a socio- path so you are incapable.

Okay, I'm gone. YES, it's true, another woo has hit the road, and you all can sit around in a big circle, holding hands and singing your "The Woo is Dead" song.

What a bunch of sick loser smug twits.

You are so totally to laugh.

I notice, by the way, you all hang around here together in a bunch, or go out trolling pure woo forums. I rarely ever see any of you in forums where it's balanced. (whenever any of you come over to one of those forums, the only ones who get put on moderation or booted off are the likes of you. Gee, can't imagine why!

I know you won't heed my advice to not respond to this post, because you have a mental disorder and can't help yourself, but you'll only be congratulating each other since I won't be here to read your twisted sick posts.

YOU are the liar, Dr. A, not me.

A sick, twisted, sociopathic, thug of a liar.

Hey, since I'm psychic, I know what you and a few other twits in here will be saying: "I whined about being a victim," despite the ineptness of the mods and continued lack of responsibility you've shown.

"the woo couldn't take it, she ran away" not realizing I have a life, you pond scum swill of worm bile, and have no more time to waste in this pathetic forum of "critical thinkers," and who knows what other lies.

But, you being a LIAR nothing less is expected.

Hmmm....does anyone know of a 'balanced forum' where one could post the above trollage and NOT get the mods attention?

IMHO, we might be understandably eager to lend 'hanging rope' to unpleasant people who are against the prevailing skeptic forum winds, but this being the internet we often have no idea who most of these people really are.

Maybe 'turtle' is wooish 50 year old lady named 'Natasha' from Eugene Oregon who likes Bill Maher and chatting with herself on a lonely Yahoo forum, and maybe not.

It is asking the skeptical 'maybe not' questions that adds value to these forums. General courtesy should be shepherded consistently, or we invite role playing Trolls who only serve to prejudice or promote positions via appeals to emotion, at the expense of reasoned study.

Oddly, I agree with turtle that her comments here should be sanctioned in some manner. It does not serve the goals of the forum to allow nasty 'psychic rants' any more than allowing abusive skeptic ones.

The world is full of both nice and nasty people, and it does not matter much to the truth of something how people act about it.

Except making the truth harder to find...
