If voters did not actually expect Trump to keep his campaign promises, nor show any evidence of being upset upon learning that he won't, then it is reasonable to conclude that the content of those promises had little or nothing to do with why they voted for Trump.

On the other hand, such behavior remains consistent with the notion that they voted for him because they liked his "racist transphobic evil poopyhead" talking points, and/or his overall RTEP vibe.

The 19% of voters that approve of specific things/candidates are sticking to Trump. The prices of consumer goods will go up, but these are largely people 20-60 in age, so nothing much else changes. I don't think MAGA folks live much past that. They are afraid to get vaccinations and go to doctors for anything other than a broken thing. A leg or arm. So they are largely in the same world they were in before the pandemic. With employers providing insurance, very few will lose what little healthcare they need. So they will back Trump some two years. The MAGA crowd will not bother to vore in 2026. They have no real relationship with politics past Trump. By the time the 2028 election comes around and things are much worse they won't know what to do. No rallies, no charismatic a-hole with jokes to listen to. No confusing Hannibal Lecter. They stay home.

Also, he's apparently still banging on about M&A deals for Greenland, Panama Canal, Canada. Because presumably those will still be easy peezy. But doing something about the economy to help poorer Americans? That's just too hard.

Not cozying up to tech oligarchs who will perform a Nazi salute at the inauguration.

Not committing to defy the Constitution with illegal executive orders.

Not planning to set free hundreds of violent convicted criminals.

These were clearly issues the American people cared about deeply and Democrats failed to acknowledge their importance.

I think Lia Thomas on the winner's podium probably cost the Democrats a lot more votes than they realize. Pushing a male entitlement to cross sex segregation boundaries in sports was a mistake. The Democrats identifying as the party supporting such things is very likely one of the biggest things Democrats did wrong.

In fact, it was more anti-Biden than anti-Democrat. They often continued to vote for other Democrats in down-ballots but wanted to punish Biden for not restraining Israel in Gaza and Lebanon.

No, "them" being the people who voted straight Democrat except for the presidency (as I said "They often continued to vote for other Democrats in down-ballots but wanted to punish Biden for not restraining Israel in Gaza and Lebanon."), where they chose Trump or Stein instead of Biden. They are hardly likely to be Magats.
And "them" are most likely also to have friends or family in Lebanon or Gaza making it a priority for them rather than Ukraine.

Well, for starters, they always talk about Democracy, but they really have no interest in democracy, LOL. They're really only interested in power.

But as for what they did wrong during the election, that's pretty easy. They should have at least pretended to care about the issues that all the normal people care about. Democracy, remember? Boring things like the economy, having a border (like every other country throughout history), and so on. Instead, the Democrats focussed on out-of-touch pie in the sky globalist ideals, like saying that men can get pregnant and we're really all the same and everything's a social construct, and going on about birthing people, and people with penises, LOL, and cracking down on any speech that disagreed.
