Of course it's not logical. But here we are.
I guess that's not fair of me. There are progressives in this thread who are willing to consider that mistakes were made. But they are almost drowned out by the torrent of voices insisting that no, mistakes were not made.
So where does that leave us?
- Democrats had the right message.
- Democrats had the right campaign strategy.
- Democrats had the right candidate.
- Democrats had the right funding levels.
- Democrats had the right approach to ensuring the integrity of the vote.
Therefore, Harris should be president-elect. But she isn't. If the Democrats did nothing wrong, what happened? Did the Republicans not only also do everything right, but also did everything better?
This wasn't a footrace. This wasn't a case of being a perfect runner, racing against someone who is also perfect and just a little bit faster. You can't do everything right in an election, and still lose to a candidate who is supposedly doing everything wrong, who is supposedly worse than you.
Instead of pushing back on me for lampshading the absurdity of this position, maybe push back on those that are unironically taking this position.
