The Democratic Party already is Republican. It's not even lite.
If it were, the Democratic candidate in the ´24 presidential election wouldn't have been endorsed by the Cheneys.

When your sample size is so embarrassingly low you have to round it up to 30 just to be slightly less embarrassing.

And I think they only quoted about 4 or 5 people from that group. Are they planning an article later with a more thorough review of everyone's input? Because if not, this really looks like they're fishing for a narrative.

I have to guess that they aren't going to interview ~30 people and only produce a short video, but I've no idea whether the next product is going to be a print article or an episode of The Daily.

ETA: Found it here.

A more accurate headline to highlight the inanity of what follows:

These Are The Roughly Two Dozen Trump Voters Who Should Scare Democrats the Most

I remember when the NYT did actual journalism.

We angered all of rural Colorado. We ruined their entire way of life by suggesting we could get by withour eating beef. They want to go on making beef generation after generation. There is never going to be a change in how we use land there, in their lifetime. They will eat the beef themselves if they have to.

Sanders: US run by 'extremely greedy people' who 'want it all' (CNN on YouTube, Aug 10, 2025 - 10:50 min.)
2:56--> One of the reasons, in my view, that Kamala Harris lost this election is she had too many billionaires telling her not to speak up for the working class of this country.
(...)
Her core consultants, you know, were heavily influenced by very wealthy people.
How do you run for president and not develop a strong agenda which speaks to the economic crises facing working families?
You know, more income and wealth inequality today than we've ever had.
You have 60% of our people living paycheck to paycheck.
You got a health care system which is broken and dysfunctional.
And despite spending so much, we're the only major country not to guarantee health care for people.
How do you not talk about these issues?

The problem isn't that 'extremely greedy people want it all'.
The problem is that the economic and political system lets them get it.

No, not really. It's not how capitalism works. Donald Trump, the Koch brothers, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeffrey Tucker, Peter Thiel etc. didn't "set up the economic and political system." It created them.
Many of the people who set up the political system were idealists, rebelling against the feudalist rulers. They expected wealth to spread, not to be concentrated and owned by a handful of billionaire oligarchs.
Google's AI has a fairly good summary if you google "Karl Marx" Capital greed, but I would recommend going to the source:
Capital, A Critique of Political Economy, Volume I, Book One: The Process of Production of Capital (marxists.org)

The sad fact is that some/many/most people abuse whatever power they get in order to maximize their own advantage even at the expense of others.

We failed to convince farmers and ranchers in NE and CO that the government is necessary for their business. Free market does not work, since they are stuck selling to meat packers and food processing outfits that are all "big food" in the sense that drugs are big pharma.

So what'll it be? Some, many or most? On what do you base your claim?

I suspect its based on an observation of reality and history. How precise do you want Tragic to be in estimating the percentage of folks that abuse power when give it?

The problem is that when you get the ones who don't, too many people listen to those who say 'They're all the same' and go out and vote for for the ones who've already proved they do.
