This is from a message my friend sent:

For anyone who thinks that God was on vacation Tuesday September 11th, 2001, this should change your mind. For those of you that know that God was busy on Tuesday, this will confirm it.

Dear Family and Friends,

I had a very dear friend question my faith in God right after the terrorist attack on America. Her question was simply put, "Where is your God today?" She was very hurt, as all Americans were, so I tried not to react defensively. Since that moment I have prayed and grieved over the disastrous events.
However, I believe I have the answer. I know where my God was the morning of September 11, 2001! He was very busy.
First of all, He was trying to discourage anyone from taking this flight. Those four flights together held over 1000 passengers and there was only 266 aboard.
He was on 4 commercial flights giving terrified passengers the ability to stay calm. Not one of the family members who was called by a loved one on one of the high-jacked planes said that passengers were screaming in the background. On one of the flights he was giving strength to passengers to try to overtake the hi-jackers.
He was busy trying to create obstacles for employees at the World Trade Center. After all only around 20,000 were at the towers when the first jet hit. Since the buildings hold over 50,000 workers, this was a miracle in itself. How many of the people who were employed at the WTC told the media that they were late for work or they had traffic delays.
He was holding up 2-110 story buildings so that 2/3 of the workers could get out. I was so amazed that the top of the towers didn't topple when the jets impacted.
Although this is without a doubt the worst thing I have seen in my life, I can see God's miracles in every bit of it. I keep thinking about my friend and praying for her every chance I have. I can't imagine going through such a difficult time and not believing in God. Life would be hopeless.

Now, I have some problems with this 'thinking', but I'm sure you can see some of the cracks in this logic.

If you say god interferes in this world, you need evidence for that. Simple. So, where is the evidence that god did something at all?

God: Yea, fear not, dear children. Although your flight hath been jacked most highly, and thy doom is upon thee, I, the Lord thy God, am here to comfort thee in these final moments.

Passenger: Yeah, that's great. Mind killing a few ****ing terrorists while you're here?

So your friend doesn't believe in an omnipotent God, but a crappy God who can only stop a few of the passengers from getting on a plane, and ran out of strength when there were still a third of the people inside the twin towers?

Actually, "omnipotence" refers to god being able to fit inside rationalizations; not that god can do everything.

Your friend is counting the hits and disregarding the misses.

Seems like God took the hard way in trying to intervene in the lives of the hundreds or thousands of potential victims. Wouldn't it have been easier to just stop the 19 hijackers themselves and thereby save everyone's lives?

Your friend has a major case of rationalizing things after the fact. Let's make up evidence that fits what happened.

Why would god deem to save some of the people, but not all of the people? Seems capricious to me. Why wouldn't god want to save everybody. Better yet, why would he allow it in the first place? Because he was busy?

What about the poor people on the street walking by who were killed? Not fitting in his plans to save? Too busy? The firefighters and police not in his plans, either?

Sounds like god is all too busy.

My thoughts exactly. It's as if he was saying God can get tired and out of breath like " I need (gasp for air) a few (gasp for air) seconds (gasp. falls to floor. earthquake and tsunami caused as result of fall. hundreds of thousands die.)

Your friend is counting the hits and disregarding the misses.
Well we know that Christian logic justifies that by saying "well if i prayed for it and didn't get it that means it wasn't meant to be" or "if i pray for it and get it then thank you God.

BTW, You'd think that the spell checker for randi.org wouldn't force you to capitalize the word Christian, but it sure does.

Never allow faith to topple truth....

Dear Family and Friends,

I had a very dear friend question my faith in God right after the terrorist attack on America. Her question was simply put, "Where is your God today?" She was very hurt, as all Americans ( and sane people ) were, so I tried not to react defensively (here the stinking Faither is placing their 'faith' above the true suffering of a poor person!). Since that moment I have prayed and grieved over the disastrous events.

First of all, He was trying to discourage anyone from taking this flight. (well that obviously didn't include the psycho muslims then and I think even the odd Atheist or 2 would have listened to a bit of advice, no?)Those four flights together held over 1000 passengers and there was only 266 (Atheists) aboard.
He was on 4 commercial flights giving terrified passengers the ability to stay calm.(Why oh why didn't IT give them the ability to frigging FLY, or Super Strength to over power their attackers?) Not one of the family members who was called by a loved one on one of the high-jacked planes said that passengers were screaming in the background. {that's called being in a state of shock! Or being taken by surprise!}On one of the flights he was giving strength to passengers to try to overtake the hijackers.(what's this then a race to smash into the towers first - god's speed!)
He was busy trying to create obstacles for employees at the World Trade Center. After all only around 20,000 were at the towers when the first jet hit. Since the buildings hold over 50,000 workers, this was a miracle in itself. How many of the people who were employed at the WTC told the media that they were late for work or they had traffic delays.( haven't you heard of flexi-time and lazy bastards syndrome?)
He was holding up 2-110 story buildings so that 2/3 of the workers could get out. I was so amazed that the top of the towers didn't topple when the jets impacted.(yeah you and the conspiracy nuts! WHY didn't IT simply BLOW the plane off course with a gust of holy wind - this guy's full of it with enough to spare!)

Life would be hopeless.(Hopelessness is knowing there are tossers out there who value 'faith' above 'life' and kid themselves that an IT that they believe can construct the Universe and cares about Us would ever let religious terrorists kill innocent people.)

But hey, they'll all have a laugh and a giggle about it up in heaven:-

Victim of 9/11:"Do you remember that time I burned alive 'cos you smashed a plane in my face?"

Muslim 'religious' terrorist {has to shout to be heard over the moans of pleasure from his 72 'virgins of victory'}:-

"Oh, yeah. Mind you I have to admit to shyting my pants that day."

Victim:"I forgive you..."

Musi Terrorist:"Thanks Mukka. If I ever get the chance to test your faith I'll do it." (slurp, slurp).

Victim:"Pass me a virgin..."

Muslim terrorist:"There's none left, they've all been shafted..."

Victim:"YEAH! I know how they must feel!"

Or, in the short version, Faither may be a nice person but none-the-less full of fecal material.

Why would anyone believe in a stupid, incompetent, jackhole of a god like that?

So I guess this means that god is the stupid kind of lazy, as opposed to the smart kind.

Stupid Lazy - quitting when the job is half finished

Smart Lazy - smiting 19 angry muslims and calling it a day

On 9/11, you had on four planes hijackers praying to God for the attack to be successful, and terrified Americans on airliners praying to God for the attack to fail. We all know whose prayers were apparently heard.

If God exists, He is clearly on the terrorists' side.

Hell, a couple of blown fuses on each plane would have done the job. And, apparently God could slow down traffic to prevent some people from getting to work at the WTC on time, but couldn't slow down traffic to make the terrorists miss their flights.

Stupid people believe in a God who is slightly dumber than they are.
