What are all you atheists doing for Easter?

Well I am stuck here in Iraq, and it has just been business as usual (Insurgents treated us with some rocket attacks to help us celebrate Easter). Back in the states my wife took our kids to church. Still working the atheist issue with her. I don't really mind too much that our kids go to church maybe 3 or 4 times a year. And they only went because they are staying with my family.
Thank you...

Went for a walk in the park, but was annoyed by the zombie worshipers who were worshiping so loudly, I could hear them even though I had my iPod on. In a little bit, I will finish making the Jesus rolls for Easter dinner at my mom's house.
Jesus rolls?

I had a very nice brunch with the San Antonio Atheists' Meet-up group and saw a friend that I didn't know was a member (it was my first meet-up) and met some really nice people. (And had a really good brunch - experienced scrambled eggs sous vide for the first time.)

Making deviled eggs, of course.
Me too. I always dust them in paprika and put a half a stuffed olive on the top. Yum!

On a side note, isn't it ironic that so many Easter eggs, which most Christians regard as symbolic of their religion, wind up being products of the Devil?

I had deviled eggs too. They are a staple at every holiday!

I know at least 1 fundie who refuses to call them deviled eggs, devil's food cake, a diablo, etc.

Jesus rolls are hot cross buns?

This Easter? Packing for a cross-country move.

Normally, though, on Easter, we do absolutely nothing special at all. It's just another day.

Yesterday was the family dinner at my parent's with my two brothers and their wives. Mowed grass, fertilized and overseeded.

Today slept late, fixed a big breakfast of bacon, eggs, and toast. Smoked some baby backs and made homemade potato chips for supper.

Now I'm watching UFO Files - Russian Roswell. :)

Aha! Atheists eat babies! I knew it!

Feeding this thing chocolate versions of fertility stmbols like eggs and rabbits.

I'm enjoying a cold. Still, it's better than last weekend's bout of gastroenteritis.

My health sucks. :(

Stayed up late to get back on schedule for the night shift, drank, watched seven episodes of Doctor Who, wrote a letter to the editor of the local paper that'll never be published, slept all day.

I went to my in-laws and ate roast beef. They had ham but after last night's ham and cheese sandwiches and today's omelets I opted for the beef. They prayed and I was respectful of that. I came home early because I messed up my ankle playing baseball with the boys on Saturday and needed to ice it and get ready for work tomorrow.

It's their holiday not mine, but they make lots of good food and invite me to enjoy it with them even though they know I am an atheist.

Live and let live.

Until they mess with the health curriculum at the public school. Then I get pissed.

Spent the day cleaning the house. Played one last game of Descent 3 on the custom flight cockpit chair I built almost a decade ago just for Descent 3, managed to break one of the joysticks, then dismantled the cockpit and moved it to the trash because I no longer play regularly and I need the space.

And did three loads of laundry.

Beanbag

Wrapping up a long (thanks for the holiday, Jesus) weekend in DC. Rainy, chilly weather turned warm and muggy but not too unpleasant.
Hardly had to think of Easter at all, except for a few "happy Easter" wishes that I acknowledged with a smile. :)

Well, I spent most of yesterday watching the snooker on TV.

But today is a REALLY special day. For everyone. I command you all to go out and eat, drink and be merry (or Mary, if you are into that sort of thing;)). Let the debauchery be untrammelled! Or something.

I may even do some baking today!

Went for a short outing by the canal, but there were a lot of people and the paths were muddy so my wheelchair kept getting stuck. It was pretty funny, actually. Wound up at the pub and had a couple of drinks in the pub garden by the river watching the swans.

Home to a Easter dinner of roast lamb and all the trimmings, and then settled into a chocolate-fest of gargantuan proportions.

Today we are going up North to visit my 99 year old great aunt. It's been a wonderful, sunny, happy, bank holiday long weekend.

This year I was flying back from Europe on Easter, but we'll have a delayed egg hunt for my granddaughter as usual, even though my wife, my self and the step daughter (granddaughter's mom) are atheist. When you don't actually believe the mythology it's easier to have fun.

Long weekend in the UK, we got Friday and we have Monday as well. I have been mowing lawns, fishing, browsing, fishing again andI plan to go fishing again today.

We get a long weekend next weekend as well. Friday off for the Royal Wedding and Monday for Mayday. So lots more fishing.

I wonder if anybody forgot to do the sacraments? I did. I guess that means we are all going the hell if were Catholic which I am.

My neighbor and I have joined a new hunt club. Our old club dissolved and we had until the end of the month to get our stands out of the old property. I got mine out weeks ago. He had a lot more stuff out there so we went to the woods with a bunch of tools, a 4-wheel drive truck and a trailer to get it. The temperature reached 90 F yesterday and much gatorade was consumed. We finally got 2 tripods, a double ladder stand and two lock-on stands loaded up and moved out. We got home around 3:30 PM. He then proceeded to show me how his new kegerator works. Then he showed me again. Mrs. RB made us some wonderful chicken salad sandwiches. My neighbor demonstrated his kegerator until it got dark and we all retired.
