What are all you atheists doing for Easter?

Today, early morning sex, late breakfast; went for a long walk, fed some ducks, took some pictures; then dinner with my SO, our cohabitees and our slave; the cat presided. Currently sprawled on a sofa alternately stroking my SO and the cat......
Yesterday I had lunch with some friends, caught up on stuff.
Tomorrow, no specific plans, probably some more work on my doctoral thesis. And sex.
Tuesday a half day of work, late lunch at a friend's restaurant, closed over easter; weatherproofing some TV cabling for my sister-in-law plus rearranging DVB-T and FreeSat boxes for them.
Why do you ask?

Well I am stuck here in Iraq, and it has just been business as usual (Insurgents treated us with some rocket attacks to help us celebrate Easter). Back in the states my wife took our kids to church. Still working the atheist issue with her. I don't really mind too much that our kids go to church maybe 3 or 4 times a year. And they only went because they are staying with my family.

Heh, I was stationed in Korea back in 82 before they had McDonalds. Holy crap it was sweet when I got back to the states and ate a big mac.

I have a few letters that I wrote to mom while I was stationed on the DMZ there back in 82. God I sounded so pathetic. Let me know if there are forums where people are posting personal Iraq stuff. I would like to see if there is anybody as whiny and pathetic sounding as I was.

Because it seemed funny that there were no posters on an atheist type site on easter.

I'm packing for my upcoming trip to Florida to watch the shuttle launch.

And wondering where I could have possibly put my MP3 player. :(

Watched that religious TV network but my stomach hurt too much to continue. Plus the tears were ruining my makeup. (Yes, I mean lol, not sadness.)

It showed a cloth on the ground with blood dripping on it, with some spooky music playing. It was more like a zombie haunted house scene than a religious thing, but I am seeing the similarities between the two.;)

Hid eggs filled with candy. Posted some religiously irreverent things on some forums. Ate one of the best meals I have ever made.

Checked in here and remembered why I am glad I'm not in Iraq.:covereyes

Working. When I get home I'll have my 2nd annual viewing of The Life of Brian.

My stepdaughter gave birth to a 9 pound, 1 ounce boy yesterday and tonight my wife and I are going to her house to have dinner with her in-laws and celebrate.

Her father-in-law comes from a large family (19 kids), was raised very strict catholic and yet, he, his wife, and his children are all 100% atheist.

My wife was raised very strict Mennonite, in a family of 7 kids and all of them, their spouses and children are staunch Mennonites . . . except her and her children. She even has a degree in theology from Mennonite college but not a trace of the religious silliness remains.

So, that's what a whole group (12) of us "atheists" are doing tonight and it knocks the dirt off of celebrating the myth of some dead guy getting the dirt knocked off him 2000 years ago.

Big family meeting and lunch at my sister's new house. Lots of gawking over her baby, who's about a month old. Well, I think I was the only atheist, but there wasn't anything religious about it.

I was waiting for the resurrection.... of the playstation network. It didn't happen :-(

Working, 12hr night shifts, 4 on, 4 off, regardless of public holidays. Have a nice day, y'all...

I'm at work, subbing for the Sunday operator who wanted Easter off.

I'd like to say I'm racking up overtime, but I'm exempt now. But I do get a day off later in the week.

I am currently de-toxing from the annual gorge-fest at my parents' house, then I'm going to continue reading my book about Jesus and how the Bible has got its stories all bass ackwards.

This sounds like the perfect time to resurrect the story of "My Sweet Lord." 8-foot-tall anatomically correct naked Jesus made out of chocolate, anyone? :) That'd be a good exhibit to take my mega-Jesus cousins to...
