It's quite weird to think that we were so close to the opposite though... Two counties in Florida and one county in Michigan stopped us from having our first female President. That's close.

The butterfly effect indeed.

How so?

It's not Mr. Liberty being pinned down and forced to shut up.

I'm giving this one to the women, since they're the ones who have been slapped in the face with regards to any sexual allegations they come forward with being taken seriously.

This administration has made a mockery of male on female sexual assault crimes, and the seriousness of said crimes.

Nope sorry, but the women are the biggest losers in this particular circus at this particular point in time.
 
I think, maybe I'm wrong, that he meant "men and women" for the assailant part. It's not like there weren't any women condoning her.

No, I think he meant that both women and men have 'an even longer, more grueling battle on their hands'.

Because women being hit harder doesn't mean it's just women's responsibility to change that. It's just as much up to men to fight for justice.

You're right, it's both men and women's responsibility to fight for justice.

But historically speaking, the injustices regarding women has been fought by mostly women. Sure many men have marched along side them, fighting for the rights of their daughters, wives, and sisters. But let's be honest here... the majority have been women fighting for themselves.

Centuries of women having the brass kahunas to fight against societal norms. Taunted, mocked, ridiculed, shredded in the media, physically attacked and brutalized... but kept right on marching anyway.

We'd all like to think that men will equally stand up and fight alongside them, helping to empower and legitimize their fight all the more.

It's the year 2018 afterall, so hopefully that will be the case this time around. But if the mockery of the #metoo movement, the mockery of "pussy" hats, and the mockery from this administration is any example to be taken from? Then I'm not holding my breath.

People have pointed out how Trump has empowered and given a fresh new platform to the white nationalists of the country. Well, it seems now Trump has also empowered and given a fresh new platform to the misogynists of the country by way of downplaying and undermining the seriousness of sexual assault allegations.

I guess time will tell whether or not I'm reading the barometer correctly.

Republicans block a Supreme Court nominee because nominating a SC Justice is somehow illegitimate if a sitting president has fewer than 2 years to go, nudge nudge, wink wink, and then they nominate their own guy who turns out to be a rapist. They don't care and conform him anyway, rather than look for a conservative who hasn't raped anyone, because he's their guy.

It's obvious that the Democrats are the immoral powerhungry ones here, for impugning that poor man for a few sexual assaults he committed when he was but a wee lad.

Or are you suggesting that she's lying about this as part of some political plot to discredit Kavanaugh, and that the fact that Democrats have talked to her during the hearing proves this?
