• Quick note - the problem with Youtube videos not embedding on the forum appears to have been fixed, thanks to ZiprHead. If you do still see problems let me know.

Welcome, Tandi

Our needs are simple. Just provide us with a grammatically correct sentence that explains how to tell the difference between a genuine orb and a speck of dust, or between a light vortex and a camera strap.

They make a real world claim. If they want to claim that there belife is based on faith alone that is onething. But they do not. They claim it is based on at least some form of evidence.

That's lucky as they have consistently failed to supply any "hard evidence" that orbs are anything paranormal.

I dont feel the need to provide unbelievers with the evidence they crave, if they want that then they should go out and find it for themselves.
No, you’ve got it completely backwards. You’re making the claim, the burden of proof falls squarely on your shoulders.

I am confident enough in myself to say that I believe in it.
Why?
If someone doesnt want to believe in it then so be it. Just dont let it spoil you day!!
That’s all well and good until someone looses their life savings or doesn’t get medical treatment, or moves because their house is haunted or kills someone’s kid, or kills their own children, etc.

And yes, I think it could be a possibility for for people to communicate with the dead. It has not been proved that they cant, it has not been proved that they can.
Dead people can’t talk. They have shuffled off this mortal coil.

It's not a matter of "wanting" to believe or not, you see. We want to know if it's true.

I've searched for evidence of the paranormal, hope for it, but never find it. If it exists at all, it would seem I'm the former. I'm perfectly willing to change my mind should evidence surface, so I'm not the latter. Unfortunately, in my experience, most people who claim the paranormal aren't willing to give evidence that doesn't already have dozens of mundane explanations. They aren't even willing to conduct tests that filter our those mundane explanations.

I'm sorry, I had to stop and ponder this one.

So you'd rather not know how anything works, or why things are why they are, than know something and tell people about it?

Just my opinion, but that's even more close-minded than anything you've castigated people for in this thread or the other one.

I am glad you use your powers for good, and not evil.

Ninety-three posts so far, and unless I've missed something, the Believers haven't posted one single thing which they think is evidence of the paranormal.

Instead, they've just bitched about the people who won't just believe what they say without proof.

It's a poor substitute, but it seems to be all they've got.

I do have to say that of all the forums I've been to, all the arguments I've read, all the silliness I've seen: yes. That is all they have.

I found this one particularly illuminating. Theboypaj enters a free and open forum about a television show. He shares his disbelief without insulting a single person on that forum. The regulars on the forum get angry at his disbelief and ultimately have that forum removed from public response.

Very interesting indeed.

so Dr Adequate - you speak for everyone who believes in afterlife do you? Tandi was told to join this forum by TheBoyPaj. It is the same sequence of events that happens in other threads on here, someone who posts an interest / belief in the paranormal, receives a bombardment of questions on arrival by the same old group. But not all those sceptical of the afterlife post in the same genre.

I was not at all surprised to see Temp3st on the Digital Thread, where Paj goes the other follows, and on reading the contents of that thread, would this not class as trolling?

Dr Adequate for someone supposedly so well educated and academic your arguments are so weak. You have still not confirmed what proof you are looking for even after all of your postings. You accuse everyone who does not agree with you views of bitching. This is not only untrue but also very juvenile. If a few members of this forum choose to post where there beliefs differ to the mainstream of the subjects being debated on other forums, they then revert to causing contentment and arguments.

Dr Adequate you have proved beyond a reasonable doubt, that you are incapable of debating anything when it comes to mediumship.

No. Tandi was told about this forum. It was her choice to join, and to contribute to the forum. Just like any other forum.

You're right, it's the same old. We ask for evidence, you give none. Instead, you focus on how nasty we are, how rude we are, how [insert behavioural attitude] we are. Never once do we get any evidence.

Trolling? You accuse others of trolling when not once have you ever given one scintilla of a reason why you are here at all?

You should blush.

Methinks she doth complain too much.

Janice, you have not once given anything but whining and bullsh!it to this forum. We have asked you for evidence and you have declined to provide it. Therefore, we have decided that you are a big liar, liar pants on fire.

Dr Adequate you have proved beyond a reasonable doubt, that you are incapable of debating anything when it comes to mediumship.
Dr. Adequate has already taken the wind out of your sails. Why don't you realize that the continent you think you own is merely a sandy beach?
