Hey, welcome to all of you! I'm the "crazy uncle we keep locked in the closet" of these here parts.

Thanks, I didn't know it worked that way.

Yeah right, gods... that would be silly. I know for a fact that The Pixies exist.

Quite a few of us have evidence of pixies. We not only have custom titles, but we have a distinct loss of chocolate and booze directly connected to the times the titles appeared!

I don't know what happened to mine. I guess it was lost in translation.

Hi

Been lurking on here for longer than I care to remember now, during which time this place has amused, confused, educated and most of all pointed me towards invaluable resources and information in debating with… well, you know the score.

Thought it was about time I joined in myself, so er, hello.

Welcome, Gally! I'm assuming a fan of P.G. Wodehouse. We already have a usurper to the family name, Guybrush Threepwood, so maybe we can get a Freddie and a George and a few of the other original Threepwoods and have a family reunion.

To all an sundry:

Please note that the original JREF headquarters were in Florida. The only reason we keep JimBen in the closet is because Florida is too marshy/soggy to have cellars or basements. If available, we'd have surely kept him further away from the houseguests.

ETA: And for those of you wondering why we didn't just lock him in the tool shed, please take a reading expedition through Religion & Philosophy and USA Politcs. We have much more important need to the tool shed. In fact, there are so many tools in there, now that we're looking into building Tool Condominiums to take up the overflow.

Hi everyone! I signed myself up yesterday since my mum and I are heading out to TAM next week for the first time. She used to lurk here a lot, but I haven't had the pleasure of perusing the threads until now. I'm incredibly excited to get to Las Vegas, and I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you here :)

Welcome, Apteryx and Mum!

ETA: Whoops, suspended already, huh? Naughty, naughty--no First TAMmer button for you! :D

Hahaha, it was just a misunderstanding on my part that caused that. It's all sorted out now! Thank you for the welcome. I hope I can still get my First TAMmer button!! Haha

I'm fairly new and not good at introductions so I've been avoiding this thread, but it's kind of rude to just barge into conversations without so much as a hello so this is me saying hello. :-)

I found this site from a link on another site that, for the life of me, I can't remember, but it had a link to the MDC, and I read a bunch of those threads, became fascinated with the analytical way in which those claims were handled, and proceeded to wander around in other forums. I feel like a kid in a candy store with the wealth of knowledge on these boards and I've already learned a lot about a wide range of topics.

I'm a socially awkward introvert but that won't stop me from tentatively poking my nose in threads that interest me or where I think I might be able to offer help of some kind.

Hello all,

I'm a long-time admirer of Randi and skeptic, but only joined the forums yesterday. I'm a college professor of philosophy and mostly teach critical thinking; I use Randi's Nova video in every class! Other than that, my interests are green energy, bicycling, and RC cars and planes.

Hope to meet some of you at this years TAM... I'm here right now!
