Hi everybody. Been a lurker here since 2010 and have read a lot of interesting, lively and sometimes bizarre discussions ("fairies in the shrubbery" being one). I am 22, almost have a BA(Hons) in Business Management (in year 4). I can also do parlour magic like bending spoons and generally vandalising the cutlery!
I used to be a woo, probably all my life, until 2010. I used to be an Xtian but discovered that a book of fables that cannot explain different races (Thai and Africans are NEVER mentioned at all and neither are many many other races or geographical locations such as the Himalayas or the Atacama desert) and that offers nothing apart from easy magic tricks - making the probably flawed assumption that any of the alleged phenomena ever occured. After I realised it was nonsense, the rest of the woo also vanished. It's been a liberating experience to be able to see the real world for it's genuine wonder and not the made up guff.
So yes I've been lurking for 3 years and finally decided to join! My username came from a random username generator "look to the left and see what's there" so I picked tuxcat on account of my operating system (Linux's mascot is entitled Tux) and the fact I have a black and white "tuxedo" cat who was sat on the bed beside me begging for din-dins so it seemed apt
