Aw hell, I actually HAD Covid. A new strain came along & I was exposed
before the vaccine was available. Yes, I felt off color for an entire afternoon
and most of the following night, coughing and quivering (not very hard) until I fell asleep
and woke up next morning

Feeling chipper as a chipmunk. But I took a home test, and sure as hell there was the
little red line, so I must be posting this from the great beyond.

I got the vaccine when it came out, & all subsequent boosters, until I all
but leaked precious bodily fluids. But what the hell, you can only die once.

Even probably had it before it got popular, December 2019 to Jan 2020 (no home tests at the time, but in hindsight every indicator, including exposure to people from NYC hospitalized with it). I'm one of the lucky ones who didn't suffer. I've attended funerals of a couple not so lucky, and one friend and one family member with badly crippled lung functioning. A few years back, when staying in Harris, we met a German and Swiss couple; she was a nurse, so, unsurprisingly, that was an initial point of conversation.

After talking to her quite a bit over the next couple of days, it became clear to me that she was essentially suffering PTSD resulting from her experiences in elderly care during COVID, to the point that it became my role among those of us staying there to contain her distress - my old background still comes in useful.

As an aside, we eventually managed to engage her other half in a long conversation, as he is a serious petrol head and we were among very few folk he'd ever met who appreciated the Alfa Romeo 8c he'd had, even more than a very decent Fizzer...8C...Bastard! Lucky, lucky bastard! Still, I can say I have met someone who owned and thoroughly enjoyed a 8c.

So, COVID denying twunts can just ◊◊◊◊ right off!

I should add that I was vaccinated and later boostered for the initial strain w/in days
(literally) of the jabs being available. Ditto subsequent vaxes/boosters as they came along.
I think (and nothing my sawbones has told me differs) that by the time I succumbed to
that new! improved! with added features! 2022 model, my resistance was pretty formidable.
