VFF to Appear on Rational Alchemy

I hesitate to disagree with anyone from Keene, NH, but you should be aware that Anita did pay her own expenses for the IIG test, including flying from Charlotte, NC to Los Angeles, CA. Also, while a paranormal ability that "only works sometimes under certain conditions and isn't very accurate" might not be of great benefit to mankind per se, it would be a huge scientific breakthrough to establish that such an ability exists, wouldn't it?

Perhaps -- if you are of the mind that such "breakthroughs" are waiting to be discovered, meaning that VfF could represent perhaps the first in a line of beings that will overthrow all we have come to know about how this universe works.

I can't say I can rule that out definitively. But on the evidence thus far adduced, one would be drawing an extremely long bow, in my opinion.

As someone mentioned here or in another thread recently, it's a mistake to think skeptics are by and large out to ignore or refute claims that seem outside the realms of probability and possibility. Nothing could be further from the truth. We live for proof of hitherto only imagined possibilities. Finding irrefutable evidence for all manner of claimed abilities would send us into raptures! Well, perhaps not raptures, but we'd be the first to acknowledge real evidence, were it ever to surface.

Unfortunately, what we are tiresomely and repetitively confronted with is hokey, asinine humans who make grandiose claims which they never quite seem able to demonstrate to the satisfaction of all but a vociferous coterie of supporters who appear to have left their critical faculties on the shelf, along with their books by authors who make a living at pandering to quaint but unprovable notions.

I'll stick my neck out right here and now by declaring that VfF's shenanigans will lead absolutely nowhere as far as evidence is concerned. If she's still here in a year's time, it will only be as a sad, thoroughly discredited vestige, kept alive by aforementioned coterie of supporters.

She is also a student? My daughter is a grad student and she said "wow, at my school they would love to set up a test for that. She should talk to some teachers."

There is a free test waiting to happen, and throw in a good skeptic to help oversee stuff, and you have one heck of a news story if it all works out for her.

This is has been suggested multiple times. The claim is that she doesn't want to involve her university in her scientific investigation. Then again, to lend herself credibility she has said that she has mentioned her claims to a couple of professors who were intrigued. One even suggested she might be detecting heat like a snake. Sure.

... like a snake.

For those assigning meaning to the one answer VFF got correct, here's the background to show the possibility of improper blinding being an influence. The first post is well before the test and the second is from the discussion afterwards.

I have been contact by VFF in response to this previous post of mine:
A buddy of mine was born with one kidney, has a replacement from surviving testicular cancer, and is right now in the hospital recovering from titanium implants in an arm & leg (motorcycle wreck).

As it says, my friend is currently in the hospital getting titanium implants to repair both his leg and arm as a result of a horrific motorcycle accident. VFF wants to know if he is in her area and if she can scan him.

I am sickened and appalled. It is bad enough to be worried about my friend but for someone to take this heartbreaking situation and try to use it for the glorification of their own narcissistic delusion is beyond insulting. She claims to be a healer. That hasn't yet been disproved but it is safe to say that her bedside manner is repugnant.

Especially since a test where the medical problems have been spelled out in detail would be utterly useless. There was no point at all to this vile little message.

I was a volunteer and sat in the third trial. I have no involvement with IIG and was a bit surprised to find out that CFI West is about a mile away from my house.

I also introduced them to my friend who was missing a kidney. When I did so, I told them that I had mentioned it here. However, I didn't make a big deal out of it. Plus I didn't give them my screen name or very many details about what I had said. In hindsight, it was a bit naive to think that they would have picked out a few posts scattered over numerous threads and two different websites. I really should have gathered it up and forwarded it to them so that they had all the info.

If I have any excuse it is only that I wasn't involved with the planning stages and didn't understand until afterward just how crazy and involved everything was.

Now the only guy that Anita was sure about is the same guy I mentioned. Not that I blame the IIG (for the reasons listed above) If there is any fault here it is entirely mine.

Those of you who were unhappy with the Rational Alchemy interview are welcome to call me up at Skype and do a better job yourself. My username there is, surprise, VisionFromFeeling. So go right ahead. Ask some "hard hitting" skeptical questions. I really don't mind, and I welcome it.

So long as no one asks questions about your psychological composition, which would effectively cut through everything and get straight to the central point from which everything stems.

She's only answered 1 of 5 questions on her 'interview2' page (I refuse to link to it) and even then her answer conflicts with existing data.

Interviews are worthless in this case.

Yes. Any interviewer would just get the same spiel she's been reciting here for a year and a half. It would be a waste of time and effort.

Forget the Rational Alchemy interview. And forget about all those people you think are just itching to ask you all kinds of questions.
As it is, you are not interesting.

Do you want to be interesting? Get some "hard hitting" data.

Actually that could make for an interesting show. Do ask.

I just got back from my visit in LA. Maybe I was expected to do work while there. I will get to them, most of which require lengthy answers. And I dare you to show how my answer to the question of when my claim started shows any conflicting data? I have been quite consistent with this answer.

Would you be willing to agree, in writing, prior to the interview, not to discuss or publish anything that is said?
I am curious as to the reasons for this. The purpose of such an interview is to share it with others, so your request kind of contradicts the actual intent of the whole thing. Unless you were hoping for just a private conversation between the two of us, in which I expect plenty of swearing and other unpleasant feedback from you otherwise I wouldn't understand why it must be kept secret, but sure I would agree to it. Bring it on, as they say. :)

Find out for yourself. It may be different when I'm on the spot without time to carefully write the answers.

Right. Then give me some tests. Anyone know any people who are missing a kidney or who are missing the uterus? Set up a test for me PLEASE. I can not do it on my own as the claimant.

No i don't think i will give you material for a film Anita. Good trick to get some filler though, used it myself for the opposite reason a few years back. Someone is giving you tips on promotion, or your reading up on the material yourself lately by my guess.

I second this! The JREF is all about the concept of "put up or shut up". Unfortunately, you seem unable to do either. Try this for a change of pace: Develop a claim, test it on your own multiple times, make sure you know for sure that you can do what you claim you can do, and know all the parameters of what you claim to be able to do. Once you are at this point, arrange for a test with some skeptic organization, and once you pass a test, and the skeptic organization says you passed the test, then, and only then, come back here and let us know you passed the test, and simply link to the writeup of the test by the skeptic organization. Once the data is reviewed by folks here, and it confirms you have made a testable and provable claim, then a discussion of the ability can occur, and a MDC challenge application can be made. Until then, there is really nothing new to discuss, nor is there any realistic expectation of anything new.

Unfortunately, what we are tiresomely and repetitively confronted with is ...... grandiose claims which they never quite seem able to demonstrate...... M.

Bolding mine -

This is very true because those who can demonstrate follow the RULE of their circles that they will never indulge or entertain the merely ignorant or pseudo-skeptically curious. Hence, the endless going nowhere cycle of the MDC.

Actually that could make for an interesting show. Do ask.
My method of "interviewing" involves you actually doing some homework first. My pearls don't cost money ... but they aren't free either. :)

Try starting with this thread and telling me your detailed synopsis of it, and then we can go from there. Otherwise, there is no point in pursuing the idea any farther at all. :)
