Maybe he is trying to get a day recognized officially by the state as "Magician's Day" or some other title?

I know a couple states officially recognize a day in October as "Locksmith's Day" ... they call it "Lock and Safety Day" or something similar.

US Representative Pete Sessions (Republican, Texas) believes in magic and has introduced a resolution in the House of Representatives that would recognise magic as a "rare and valuable art form and national treasure".
