US Officially Blames Russia

WikiLeaks is claiming they found information on French Presidential candidate Macron in Clinton's emails according to Russia Today. Oddly nothing on Putin's preferred candidates Le Pen and Fillon.

Clinton's emails. A bottomless cornucopia of ... something.

Assange's Energizer Bunny, apparently. It just keeps going.

Purely coincidental that this should be unearthed at the onset of the French election cycle, I'm sure.

And nothing on Putin and his water-carriers. Ever.

Actually, stolen information of just such a nature was publicly released a while ago, and planet Assange was outraged. At the leakers.

Flynn talking to Russia before inauguration?

That's a no no, kiddo

It appears Michael Flynn is an idiot.

Federal officials who have read the transcript of the call were surprised by Mr. Flynn’s comments, since he would have known that American eavesdroppers closely monitor such calls. They were even more surprised that Mr. Trump’s team publicly denied that the topics of conversation included sanctions.

US investigators corroborate some aspects of the Russia dossier

For the first time, US investigators say they have corroborated some of the communications detailed in a 35-page dossier compiled by a former British intelligence agent,

Not that it matters. The Republican Party will never seriously investigate one its own - Chaffetz has been very consistent on that matter. He can afford to be, he's in one of the safest districts from one of the safest states. And the Dems have little chance to retake the house or even the senate in the next election.

We're stuck with treason.

What a surprise. And Wikileaks loses what little creditbility it had left. It has become a mouthpiece for Putin.

I disagree. I think Russia is the one issue where a lot of Republicans will part ways with the Trump administration.
And a lot of Republicans do not consider Trump "one of us" but a opportunist who mananged a hostile takeover. Whatever loyalty there is is strictly opportunistic, and will vanish if Trump becomes unpopular..as is clearly happening.
Look at it this way:With Pence (who I cannot stand either) you would get everything you want but without the baggage you get with Trump.

IC community is acting as if White House is completely compromised.

In light of this, and out of worries about the White House’s ability to keep secrets, some of our spy agencies have begun withholding intelligence from the Oval Office. Why risk your most sensitive information if the president may ignore it anyway? A senior National Security Agency official explained that NSA was systematically holding back some of the “good stuff” from the White House, in an unprecedented move. For decades, NSA has prepared special reports for the president’s eyes only, containing enormously sensitive intelligence. In the last three weeks, however, NSA has ceased doing this, fearing Trump and his staff cannot keep their best SIGINT secrets.

Since NSA provides something like 80 percent of the actionable intelligence in our government, what’s being kept from the White House may be very significant indeed. However, such concerns are widely shared across the IC, and NSA doesn’t appear to be the only agency withholding intelligence from the administration out of security fears.

What’s going on was explained lucidly by a senior Pentagon intelligence official, who stated that “since January 20, we’ve assumed that the Kremlin has ears inside the SITROOM,” meaning the White House Situation Room, the 5,500 square-foot conference room in the West Wing where the president and his top staffers get intelligence briefings. “There’s not much the Russians don’t know at this point,” the official added in wry frustration.

None of this has happened in Washington before. A White House with unsettling links to Moscow wasn’t something anybody in the Pentagon or the Intelligence Community even considered a possibility until a few months ago. Until Team Trump clarifies its strange relationship with the Kremlin, and starts working on its professional honesty, the IC will approach the administration with caution and concern.

Doubt it, people love power and will do anything to keep it, id imagine they'd accept a hammer and sickle held by a bear in mother Russia pose as the new symbol of the party if it means they can win again.
The republicans have been out of power for the last eight years and won on the ticket of a guy who said they, politicians in general, were at fault and sending emails.
I imagine the republican party will be happy letting the guy tweet what he wants as long as he rubber stamps everything they want.
Come four years, trump will still be complaining about how the swamp still needs draining, how they stopped his good ideas dammit, and probably emails.
If republicans were vexed by trumps already obvious ties to Russia, they would have said something by now.
Ted Cruz, whose father was accused of killing jfk by trump, is now defending him if proof were needed how far, or low politicians will go to keep their position.

Jared Kushner's own paper reports that US intelligence agencies consider the White House to be compromised by Russia, and naturally the first reaction of the Heil Trump crowd is to attack the intelligence agencies.
