I found this documentary to be very confusing. I’ve seen documentaries that purport to have some kind of objectiveness, and also documentaries which were clearly polemic: where the director has a story and anything that doesn’t fit with that is removed or down-played. But this is the first documentary I’ve seen where the makers don’t seem to care either way if it’s true or not.
They make no attempt to check anything, but at the same time these statements are often underpinned by slightly comedic music. The only thing I can say for sure is that the documentary makers didn’t know about the subject in question. Perhaps they couldn’t bring themselves to believe in it uncritically, nor to challenge it either.
