UK General Election

You really, really think there is any comparison with recent attacks and the existential threat the UK faced in World War 2?!?

Do nothing for 30 years then ask that question again when the Muslim population is at 25%.

The Mail going to town on 'The Apologists for Terror'. I researched several of those claims and they all checked out. Quite incredible that anybody in their right minds would vote for the Labour party in its current form.

Oh, come off it. Corbyn is long in the tooth. He has always been passionately involved in politics. Going out to rallies and demos and talking to people.

You have to look at things in historical context. Michael Foot was knocked because he went on CND marches in the 50's/60's.

I am sure many of us have attended demos and protests which have little relevance to today's moraes.

If you are going to pick and select Corbyn's 'leftie' moments, then you really ought to balance it with the arms trading and secret liaisons with the Saudis on the other side. Not to mention cosying up to China despite its appalling human rights record.

So you really believe that the criticism of Corbyn comes from him attending 'leftie' protests? You compare the IRA and al Muhajiroun with CND? Am I meant to take you seriously?

So that's what drives you: islamophobia.

And there's my answer. Clearly not. The resort of someone who has no knowledge of the subject and no argument.

Diane Abbot is taking an indefinite break from the campaign due to ill health.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2017-40184826

Her ill health is obviously a cause for concern for her, her family and friends but it's a shame that the campaign break didn't occur earlier...

Ill health! LOL! This strange affliction that flares up when politically expedient, like when she is due to vote on Article 50 (her illness pops up for those two hours and then disappears), or when she has just forgotten all her figures and is due to go for another interview (again, the illness manifests only for that particular time slot, then she's out and about and OK again). Now, due to multiple atrocious performances, Corbyn has finally banned her outright from appearing on camera, at which point her illness miraculously returns to save the day. That's what Corbyn thinks of the electorate, that we're all idiots.

I try not to rush to judgement. For example, it could be an illness which flares up when she's under a lot of stress. My mother's cancer symptoms seemed to get much worse when she was under stress (or was it vice versa - difficult to tell).

Why does the percentage of Muslims in 2047 matter to whether terrorism today is comparable to the existential threat the UK suffered during WWII?

No point in looking to the future, is there? Just concentrate on what's happening right now and we won't go far wrong.

Jeremy Corbyn has categorically said he condemns terrorism and utterly abhors al Muhajiroun.

In a free country, he can hardly stop a small obnoxious handful (200 out of 8,000) of people from turning up.

Diane Abbott has a right to be off sick and she doesn't have to explain her illness, either.

So where is Philip Hammond and Theresa May's other sidekicks? Unlike Diane Abbott, we haven't seen them at all. I can't see you making wild claims that May's hidden them out of sight.

We note that May refused to attend a leadership debate, unlike Corbyn, sending a bereaved and grieving Amber Rudd in her place to face the ridicule from the carefully vetted neutral audience about the Tories dreadful record, and unlike Diane Abbott, May cried off appearing on 'Women's Hour' Radio 4 programme. (Unfortunately, Diane Abbott became unwell and had to cancel it.)

What is wrong with a Muslim population of 25% in the UK
There is already a 10% Italian population in the London today and nobody is unhappy so far, or so I have been told

I will actually back you up on this.

Sometimes, something really unpredictably nasty will happen healthwise that may be very unpredictable.

When such a thing does happen, one might well think that one can continue on and subsequently find out that you're toast.

I have seen one parent do it and one refuse to do it. It's human nature.

And nobody is obliged to reveal their medical concerns unless they do so voluntarily.

Personally, I tend to be quite open about such matters. But that's me. Others are really closed about their medical history as is their right. I think it is a foolish position, but if that is their choice, who am I to say a darn word about it?

My own father was deeply secretive about such matters. He got over it before his demise, but I would not make a judgment.

Funny enough, my mother was the reverse. It was impossible to stop her blabbing on about her various ailments.

People are different. This is not surprising.

........There is already a 10% Italian population in the London today

I can't find anything to substantiate that claim, and I've never heard anyone else make it. Can you back this up?

This from Wiki:

According to the 2011 UK Census, there were 131,195 Italian-born residents in England, 3,424 in Wales,[31] 6,048 in Scotland,[32] and 538 in Northern Ireland.[33] The 2001 Census recorded a total of 107,244 Italian-born people resident in the United Kingdom.[34] Office for National Statistics (ONS) estimates put the equivalent figure for 2015 at 162,000.[1] In 2016, the Italian embassy in London estimated that 600,000 Italians were resident in the UK.[35] According to Ethnologue, Italian is the first language of some 200,000 people in the UK,[36][dubious – discuss] although the 2011 Census recorded only 92,241 people with Italian as their main language in England and Wales.[37]

For the period 2015 to 2016, 12,135 Italian students were studying in UK universities. This was the third-highest figure amongst EU countries and ninth globally.[38]

Distribution[edit]
Italians and British-born people of Italian descent reside across the entire UK. Also unlike many ethnic groups in the country, there are substantial numbers of Italians outside England. Locations with significant Italian populations include London, where the 2011 Census recorded 62,050 Italian-born residents,[31] Manchester with an estimated 25,000 people of Italian ethnicity,[25] Bedford with an estimated 20,000 ethnic Italians,[27][26] and Glasgow, which is home to a large percentage of the estimated 35,000

The London population is about 8.6 million, so Italians, according to the above figures, are about 0.7% (or 3/4 of 1%) of the London population. This is about one fourteenth of your claim.

and nobody is unhappy so far, or so I have been told

Around here, you need to do better than assertion and hearsay.

10% was just a figure, not to be taken literally
When I was in London, I found Italians much everywhere
