I will laugh so hard if they're just some London lads out on the rob, who tripped a huge security alert.

I mean it still doesn't feel very likely but it would be glorious if it was true.

They have been released on bail; so the idea that they are pro-Palestine or pro-Iran direct action protestors let alone terrorists of illegal combatants seems remote.

I think you may be right, a group of likely lads looking to steal red diesel.

Of course contrary to this is the fact that Trump says that the US has been watching these diesel thieves for some time. I mean no one would suspect that Trump might be fast and loose with the facts would they?

But Trump said they've been watching them for a long time. They'd better re-arrest these terrorists straight away because we daren't contradict Trump.

Well, I'm heartily pleased if this takes a turn toward bog-standard criminals finding themselves up to their necks in trouble. Most especially for the puncturing of all the usual blowhards.

Trump might be getting involved because the amount of diesel involved would put a big dent in US diesel imports. ;)

Reminds me of a quirk of US law. If you pay for something with a fake $3 bill, that's still fraud/theft, but it doesn't count as counterfeiting because there are no real $3 bills.

UK law recognises 6 types of British nationality. When and how did the suspects become British nationals or are they UK born? If not UK born, what are their countries of origin? Under the circs, these are perfectly reasonable questions
