Dear god, just when it seemed safe to watch the news, the ignorant thug Mckenzie climbs out of his hole. So now it's Davis v Mckenzie v Ukip v BNP. I don't suppose it's worth praying for some sort of freak accident?

The fact that Mackenzie considers Gordon Brown to be a socialist is indicative of his breathtaking political acumen.

BNP are not going to run.

I do wonder why not....

Even the British National party (BNP) has said it will not run against Mr Davis, because the party agrees with him on 42-day detention. Ukip has said it will run if Labour does, although Godfrey Bloom, one of its MEPs, has said he will campaign for Mr Davis if asked.

Mr Davis has also managed to nab Blair's old job as Bailiff and Steward of the Three Hundreds of Chiltern.

Excellent start to the campaign for Kevin McKenzie:

Reporter: have you ever been to Hull?

Moron: no never, wait once, it's absolutely shocking.

Apparently he didn't realise that the journalist was taping. :D

I completely support David Davis' stand on this issue, though it will be interesting to see how it plays out in the media if Labour did not field a candidate.

'I'm loving it' Kev has indicated on many occasions that he hates it when people get his name wrong.

Haltemprice and Howden doesn't have much of actual hull in it.

Wont this act as somewhat of a damp squib when Davis gets re-elected?

Wrongfully, the vast majority of British politics is London/Westminster-centric, and this will presumably only play out as "Oh, well a couple of the white middle class from Yorkshire consider this 42 day thing to be a bad idea. Perhaps this is worth a story or two here and there".

Granted, it's an interesting strategy, and perhaps an admirable stand. But it seems entirely ineffective when you consider the minimal size of this 'referendum', carried out by people who are not located in the urban, multi-cultural areas this legislation will effect.

Depends what he is trying to achieve. Some phone in on the radio today seemed to indicate that Davis is seen as principled (small and often crazy sample so not worth much except to show that is a dimension some folk are thinking along). If he is making a position for the tory leadership it does not look so daft

I am hoping that the debate can be continued. Perhaps there can be a special edition of Question Time, or even a Channel 4 debate that gets televised. That'd be nice.

Also, Kelvin McKenzie may consider Hull to be shocking, but that can easily change in the forthcoming years. Unlike Kevin McKenzie, who in the forthcoming years will still be a twat.

Unlikely. The story is already running out of legs. Future coverage beyond token will likey rest on Kelvin MacKenzie doing something interesting.

Well yes global warming could cause it to dissapear under water.
