Two cops shot dead in rural Australia

Ned was captured in bushland adjacent to the Glenrowan hotel.

Interestingly, Glenrowan is only 50 kms from Porepunkah, and the Kelly gang used to hide out in that area (Stringybark Creek).
The gang also ambushed and murdered police.

The people who advertise them on line say that a Level IV vest will stop .30-06 AP bullets,
even multiple hits.

Well, mebbe. Dunno if you won't get knocked down, though. In any case,
that much protection isn't cheap, or comfortable, or concealable, or worth packing
around the Australian bush on a 100 (or is it 200?) km yomp.

If I had sniper detail that day,* I believe I'd put the pip on our man's center of mass and
not worry about fine details, especially if the range was more than 80 metres.
Showoff shooting is for paper events, not live action.

* Which may Holy God forbid.

Ned Kelly had local supporters in the same region. And he became a tourism icon!
Two (mebbe) supporters were questioned and released on Saturday.
On Saturday, Victoria Police confirmed detectives from Taskforce Summit had arrested a man and a woman as part of their ongoing investigation into the movements of Freeman.

"The man and woman were arrested about 7am on 4 April at two properties in north-east Victoria," a police spokesperson said.

"The investigation remains ongoing and, as such, we are not in a position to provide further details at this immediate time."

Victoria Police confirmed the pair were associates of Freeman and were not members of his family.

They were interviewed by police but released pending further enquiries.
This ABC article also repeats what I heard about the gun he was carrying when he was shot, that it was a police firearm he took from one of the police he murdered.

The second half of the article delved into great detail about how the sov cit movement is becoming more prominent, giving way too much thought to the why.

Me, I think it's simply with the village idiots having access to the internet; they can find more ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ more easily that they can't distinguish as ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊.

He was such a piece of ◊◊◊◊.

"The ABC can reveal police were at the property to execute a search warrant for the 56-year-old's devices, on which hundreds of files containing child abuse material were later found."

Very good news. Fellow sov cits I reckon who will get to know the inside of prison very well.
Utter nonsense - they have not consented to being arrested nor to being kidnapped and they don't have a contract with the state. Once they point out this the authorities will have to let them go....

They have not yet been interviewed by police, let alone charged. Trying to prove they helped Freeman after the shooting would be hard. They may even be released without being charged.
If that's the case, we'll never find out. If it's not the case, we'll probably find out in 2 years.

Police don’t arrest people without good cause, particularly in high profile cases like these. These scumbags are going down.

Big difference between being arressted and being found guilty. You know that. On the other hand you have a good chance of being right in that they will be found guilty.
