Someone asked if there were rumours about a president not leaving office before the current one. The answer is YES. That in this specific case the rumours are based on the president's own words doesn't change that.

There's no nitpicking involved. I've simply repeated what the claim was. If you thought it meant something else that's not on the claimant. Instead of saying you weren't aware of the rumours you could've just cut to the chase and told the other poster that in this case it was very different, and we wouldn't have had this discussion.

Instead you're left moving the goalposts because you don't want to admit that you were wrong.

I only use it to get all my news from various sites, organisations, bands and so on in a single place. In that sense it's pretty useful.

Unfortunately I can't mute the "likes" and that clutters the feed.

No, I am just making a different point- that whatever "rumors" were bandied about concerning BHO or GWB the situation we are facing with DJT is fundamentally different.

I don't think they need to ban the likes of Katie Hopkins or Qanon, as long as they break no laws impinging on a person's privacy and hate speech. Hopkins was mostly careful to phrase her tweets in a way that came out as personal opinion rather than race hate. I may not agree with you but I defend your right. blah blah.

People are quite capable of knowing the difference between fake news, CT and opinion. For example there is now one account claiming Meghan Markle is a part of a cannibal elite as well as being a 'former yacht girl', introduced by former client Prince Andrew and that Prince Harry has a double and is not really with her. The clue is in the account avatar of a frog. (Frog emoji= alt right) Does anyone really believe this? Of course not.

Sure twitter should ban accounts that 'violate rules' (spam, porn, hate speech, persoanl abuse) but I can't see how it can police opinion and speculation, no matter how outrageous.
