This big dummy. Even I knew that about that. I'd even bet Trump was informed Venezuelan crude was unsuitable for the reserve, but he ignored it, or forgot it, just doesn't give a ◊◊◊◊, or perhaps all three. JFC, he exemplifies the professor's comment in my sig every day.

Hide the ketchup!
A judge in Washington DC has dismissed the criminal case against a former Olympian accused by the Trump administration of vandalising the Reflecting Pool.
Judge Todd Edelman ordered the case against David Hearn dismissed "with prejudice", meaning US prosecutors cannot refile the case.
Judge ends case against Olympian accused of Reflecting Pool vandalism
Judge said Trump might target champion canoeist because he was politically active and donated to Democrats.www.bbc.co.uk
Of course the DC prosecutor Jeanine Pirro already dropped this case, recognising it was utterly hopeless. Trump threw a tantrum.
So I wonder how, procedurally, the case came to be before the judge to be permanently dismissed and prevent Trump pressuring some poor sacrificial lamb at the DOJ to try again. I guess it would have been Hearn's lawyers who acted, to stop this from hanging over their client, but I have no idea how that works.
We can now look forward to some kind of ugly, vexatious lawfare revenge act against both Pirro and Hearn. The innocent must ever suffer to protect the monster's ego.
There's the old saying about it being better to be silent and thought a fool than speak and confirm it.
I'm not entirely sure that Trump fully internalised that advice

No that's a b. Not many people know that 1b00 has a b in it. I'm going to call it 1m00

I think 100n would be more appropriate. Although if someone could give him a certificate saying his IQ is 8008135 he'd be happy for hours.

Actually, some of the caverns used to store the strategic reserves are becoming unstable because they have been so empty for so long.
It's possible that they would rather fill them with unsuitable crude than risk a collapse

No, for some reason I decided to leave the toxic platform in the universe when the second most toxic man in the universe made it that way.

The Justice Department is reviewing whether the special prosecutor's office that investigated Watergate committed misconduct.

I just tested it and it answered the question correctly, though the "Did Donald Trump lose..." phrasing took significantly longer to process.

Note that it also has a link to How SI works so there is somebody in the IT team trying to do what he says.

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
Prices are way down from what Biden and the Dumocrats left us.
It's why I won the Election, and now prices are coming down, RAPIDLY.
It's the Dumocrats' fault, not the fault of the Republicans -But we are fixing it!

The other thing Hegseth said is that the US military were going to go off grid. All the bases will develop their own independent power generating capacity. Given Trump's prejudices, this isn't going to be wind turbines or acres of solar power across area 52. But good coal fired power stations (or possibly oil or LNG). Since these are off grid they will be exempt from EPA regulations, so generating lots of CO2, particulates, and nitrogen oxides, things real warriors need in the air they breathe. A huge capital investment, plus of course the man power to run them, I assume civilian contractors rather than the US corps of engineers. Although bases will be relatively protected from attacks on the grid they will still be vulnerable to supplies of coal, LNG etc. Of course the Dept. of War now owns its own Venezuelan oil fields. Perhaps soon there will be the marine corps coal mining (MCCM) regiments to guarantee coal to the marine base Quantico coal powered power station and the coal powered steam catapult aircraft carriers.
