Trump's Second Term

This sucks and is likely unconstitutional.

A brewery in Wisconsin has had its alcohol license revoked after it promised customers free beers when President Donald Trump dies.
Wisconsin’s Department of Revenue revoked Minocqua Brewing Company’s permit to operate in the state, effective Aug. 4, after it made the promise to its patrons, owner Kirk Bangstad said in a newsletter on Sunday.


Minocqua has been described by Bangstad as the “state’s most progressive brewery.” The owner, who also frequently posts anti-Trump messages on the company’s social media accounts, said he would fight “tooth and nail” after receiving the notice from the Department of Revenue. “As you can imagine, I’m not taking this lying down,” he later posted in a Substack. “We’re going to fight the state of Wisconsin tooth and nail, and once again, they’ll have to pry me out of my taprooms before I stop selling beer to thirsty progressives who come to visit us.”

This will be the state's excuse:

State officials had previously seized canned beverages from the brewing company in June, accusing it of illegally transporting products from Illinois without paying the proper taxes and fees.

The latter, of course, is anathema to Republican leaders, the former, they're happy to keep working to make happen and convince people that it should happen. There's a reason for the need for eternal vigilance against the darkness - it's certainly far better than the alternatives.

I think they might have got Uganda about right, but as for the rest, it's not just that they've mislabelled them, there aren't even countries marked in the right place or of the right shape.

Veterans tend to get distinctly preferential treatment when it comes to hiring for a lot of jobs. Trucking is one of the industries that does that to a significant degree, on a quick check. Veterans face a fair few issues that lead to a bunch of problems, certainly, but this is just another of Trump's fake fixes/dishonest justifications as he seeks to sabotage the country.

That's a question with a somewhat more complicated answer than you might think, but also not really that complicated in reality.

The stories in the Bible that invoke homosexuality were written in the context of significantly different cultural views and practices. The story of Lot and the townsfolk who wanted to rape the angels, for example? Fairly certainly about hospitality more than anything else. Elsewhere, there's condemnation of what amounted to male prostitutes associated with the temples. That was more about pushing out other religions and similar in the Bible also may invoke, to some extent, the Roman views that males being the receiver tended to be considered unmanly, while males being the giver would be manly and praiseworthy regardless of who they're giving to. The story of David and Johnathan is often considered to be a positively portrayed homosexual relationship in the Bible, either way.

If we move onto the teachings of Christian church leaders? Homosexuality has been discouraged since the beginning, though often not really because it's homosexuality. Rather, things like rejection of the pleasures of the flesh in general are more prominent, and thus, sex should only be for procreation. With that said, it was only really in the latter half of the 20th century that versions of the Bible that departed from more literal translations to "Homosexuality getting special rebukes" translations were published. That should probably tell you enough about what's going on there to work with.

If there is an afterlife, Graham's sexual orientation is unlikely to matter much for where he would go, in short, contrary to the hype. With that said, if his deeds play a role in whatever afterlife he actually ended up in, it's rather unlikely that he's in a good place now.

i agree he'd definitely be in hell and he's definitely gay, so i thought maybe there was some bearing on how hell would go for him being as how christians hate gays so much

They'll just say it's rigged. Or they'll have one of their ambassadors across the date line do it first and give them the cities beforehand.

I think we need to be clear. Islam, and I think Judaism hence Christianity only condemned male homosexuality. Certainly in Islam (the Quran) no mention is made of female homosexuality. Men post divine communication have asserted various extensions of god's views, but fairly consistently she does not condemn lesbian relationships.
