Trump's Second Term

Trump's Department of Justice claims construction of ballroom cannot be stopped

Independent said:
June 5: Nothing can stop Donald Trump’s administration from building a massive ballroom on the White House grounds, even if courts find that the government illegally demolished the East Wing and started construction on the $400 million project without permission from Congress, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ). On questioning from the judge, the DOJ also argued that nothing could stop Trump bulldozing the Statue of Liberty if he chose.

Tom Homan threatens an ICE surge on New York City if the the state passes pending legislation

The Guardian said:
June 8: Trumps' border czar Tom Homan threatened to dispatch a surge of ICE to New York City following a promise to NYC governor Katy Hochul that he would increase ICE presence in New York if the state passed legislation barring state and local law enforcement from working with immigration in New York jails. Hochul signed a bill to that effect into law in May 2026.

US CBP denies entry to Somalian soccer referee invited to work with the FIFA World Cup

Politico said:
June 8: A World Cup referee from Somalia has been denied entry to the U.S., forcing him out of the global sporting event just days before the first match. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) did not say why the referee was barred from entry, though Somalia is among about 40 countries designated for additional scrutiny or subject to travel bans under President Donald Trump. The decision to bar his entry comes amid widespread concern that Trump administration policies will hamper World Cup preparation as the U.S. prepares to host matches in 11 cities.

The New Republic said:
June 8: Virginia Democrat Governor Spanberger signed an assault weapons ban into law in May 2026, but some county prosecutors in heavily pro-Trump areas are refusing to enforce it, undermining the democratic rule of law.

Trump nominates Todd Blanche as Attorney General, potentially a worse pick than Pam Bondi.

The Guardian said:
June 8: Donald Trump formally nominates Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche as Attorney General. Blanche was a relatively unknown lawyer until he joined Trump’s legal team in March 2023, just after Trump was indicted for the first time in a New York state case involving a hush-money payment to Stormy Daniels. His actions as Acting AG have left little doubt that Blanche and the justice department will do whatever it takes to serve Trump’s interests.

Trump declares he wants Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough removed.

Truth Social said:
June 8: In a social media post, Donald Trump calls for the removal of the Senate Parliamentarian because she ruled against his proposal. The parliamentarian of the US Senate is the official advisor to the Senate on the interpretation of Standing Rules of the Senate and parliamentary procedure. An important role of the parliamentarian is to decide what can and cannot be done under the Senate's budget reconciliation process under the provisions of the Byrd Rule. These rulings are important because they allow certain bills to be approved by a simple majority, instead of the sixty votes needed to end debate and overcome a filibuster. Incumbent parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough has held the office since 2012, appointed by then-Senate majority leader Harry Reid.

Bribing Trump with a Ballroom is lucrative:
Companies that donated millions to the project have received billions in Government contracts in return.

Of course, Republicans are still lying about the cost of the vandalism while at the same time desperately trying to come up with the money that is actually going to pay for it instead of going to Trump directly or indirectly.

The FOX and right wing media approach in general is to tell stories. The single event of an illegal killing a jogger. Open border. Pretty much everything. Antifa rioiting. MAGA did not do any popular events, other than the extremes, with Tiki torch March etc. MAGA liked to sit indoors in an arena and hold up signs Trump made. So their view of the world is built on fears. There is nothing coming in that tells of any good that government did. Not much on FEMA, as FEMA is now nothing.

So the main flow from the stories is what they operate on. National debt? No meaning. Tax rates for anyone over 50 000 income? No meaning. Inflation 4%? No meaning. "The gas is expensive!" That sort of things they recognize. So it's basically a trickle down of bad news to the everyday life and paying bills that they are experiencing.

And who caused it? How long will it be Biden? Will they get any of this by 2028 election?

Biden's head will be a wizened skin stuffed with straw in the year 2525, and yet Trumpers will still blame all the problems of that time on him.

I‘ve flown on Marine One more times than I can remember.

I’ve noticed two very distinct differences between President Trump and President Clinton.

1) on all of our Marine One flights, Clinton never stopped at the cockpit and spent time with the pilots. Never. Trump does.

2) Clinton had a really lousy half-hearted salute and the Marines eventually stopped facing the steps and the president. They faced forward. It’s the little things.

Now, they’re facing Trump and Trump snaps off a sharp, respectful salute.

We are not the same. ❤️

Fine, next time I fly I'll make sure to bother the pilots doing their job. I'm sure they will appreciate it.

Honestly, if true, which I doubt, this is just another example of Dump being a tiny little toddler who visits the cockpit because he thinks it's cool to be there.

Every Black person that dares question Donald is Low IQ

Donald J. Trump
@realDonald Trump
Stephen A. Smith is an arrogant fool, a low IQ individual. In other words, he's "dumb as a rock," and totally unqualified to ever think of running for high political office, or even low political office, for that matter! He'd get annihilated in a debate by the most incompetent of politicians. Joe Biden's now "fabled" performance would look great by comparison to anything that this loudmouth huckster has to offer, which isn't much! Within a few weeks, they'd laugh him out of politics!!!

I don't believe this for a second but doesn't that speak ill of the Marines on that detail? They can't maintain professionalism because they don't get hugs and told they are special little boys?

Craven coward.

BLUMENTHAL: Who won the 2020 election?

JUDGE TRAYNOR: This issue has become a question of political controversy. Justice Jackson--

BLUMENTHAL: It's 'political controversy' only because the president refuses to accept the results. I'm asking you as a matter of fact. Who won?

TRAYNOR: As Justice Jackson stated, it is not appropriate to engage in discussion regarding that

BLUMENTHAL: So you're going to use the same script that other nominees have used before this panel to avoid the question?

TRAYNOR: I think the precedent established by Justice Jackson ...

BLUMENTHAL: As a matter of fact, which presidential candidate got more votes in 2020?

TRAYNOR: As I stated before, this is an issue that Justice Jackson--

BLUMENTHAL: You're adopting a script that has been dictated to you by the White House
