And I have to wonder how many times that's been the case now? Well into three figures I would guess. Understanding how Donald Trump was immune to the normal laws of politics will fill many books but barring some of the wackier conspiracy theories being true I doubt we will ever have a definitive answer.

Oh, I don't think that there's any real mystery about what's going on.

The fundamental goal of "conservatives" is to have rules that protect them, but do not bind them, while also binding, but not protecting those they don't consider their own. This is just one of the many, many real life examples of that in action. Pretend "principles" to them tend to be one of the forms that those rules take. The specifics of the situation may be up for debate and description, but the fundamental nature of what's going on is far less so. Going further, looking at the big picture tends to be more more helpful and illuminating than grubbing around in the specific details for general understanding.

If it hadn't been verified by several other sources, I would have thought this was a parody post. But I don't think The POSOTUS actually wrote it. Using the f-word with an apostrophe is not his style. But praising Allah on Easter Sunday? What kind of crazy do you have to be?
If he had actually died yesterday, there's going to have to be some 'splainin' to do as to who wrote it for him. I am very curious to see his announcement tomorrow, if he actually shows up.
 
Unfortunately it can't be ruled out that this is a threat to use a nuclear weapon against Iran

More likely he's going to extend the deadline again.

I thought for sure it was fake so I quickly fact-checked. Even more horrific than the post was the fact that most of the major news outlets who reported on it (like the NYT) just matter-of-factly reported on it as if this is all normal. I mean, it *is* normal for trump, but the fact that our institutions have normalized it is insane. And it will keep getting worse, hopefully ending in some sort of complete psychological collapse and not millions of people being blown up.
