I was mocking the idea that Iran would actually bother to remove the mines afterwards.Sorry, I don't have a clue what it's really called, or how it's done, and that's why I asked.

Trump: We’re talking to them. I don’t know that I want to make a deal. Nobody even knows who you are dealing with because most of their leadership has been killed. So, I don’t even know if I want to make a deal. They want to make a deal badly.
If the regime falls, it's a lingering harm that they wouldn't care about. If the regime survives, well, the gulf states and the US would need to reopen the Strait anyway, so let them payWell, I guess if they don't ever plan to use that strait again, there would be no reason to remove them.
problem is that not everybody understand or agree with his idea of a deal as "lie down and do as I want!"I thought 'making deals badly' was his schtick?
War aims ? What about war aims ? Don't you know that, as the world's hegemon, the USA has a divine right to tell everybody what to do without ever having to give any reason for it ?If some third party managed to obtain a ceasefire commitment from Iran, do we suppose Trump would accept it?
We don't even know yet if his war aims include regime change. He's demanding allies sign a blank cheque, joining in his adventure with no idea where they're going. "Come and suppress Iranian attacks while we continue attacking them. It'll all be over when I decide what counts as over."
Yes but even if the rest of the world accepted that. They still would need to know what the senile fool thinks he wantsWar aims ? What about war aims ? Lots of people made that case, but then someone mentioned Epstein again and here we are...Trump on Strait of Hormuz: "Really, I'm demanding that these countries come in and protect their own territory, because it is their territory ... you could make the case that maybe we shouldn't be there at all, because we don't need it. We have a lot of oil."
Give him more credit, he's been destroying NATO and international relations with Europe long before this Iran business! The narcissistic man baby that Americans have twice elected to be their president, is presently destroying NATO and international relations with Europe, whilst blaming Europe.
