Dangerous thing about Iran mining the straits is you don't need hi tech warships to do it. You can convert a small friether or even a fishing boat to carry and drop mines.

How easy is it to pick up those mines after this alleged "war/excursion" is over?

Not easy.
It needs specialist ships and sensors along with skilled crews

Doesn't Iran know, because this would certainly be like shooting themselves in the foot if this whacko move by the fat clown ends soon, especially if they can't find their own bombs?

Talking about minesweeper ships:
At the end of last year, the US got rid of its minesweepers, claiming that they can fit mine detection and destroying packages on any coastal ship.
Never tested in combat.

Everything Trump touches turns to ◊◊◊◊, that includes the world.
Um, this has to be a security risk, even for an ally

Naïvely I assumed someone with such an official role would have clean and vetted electronics, not stuff that was literally given to him from a foreign intelligence agency.

I'm sure it won't be long before US officials start calling it the "Wokeonomist", if they haven't been already.

Tell me more about this wondrous thing you call "picking up mines".
Particularly one that was known to 'modify' electronics and has a track record of planting tracking and recording software.Um, this has to be a security risk, even for an ally
