Trump's Second Term

It's so bizarre that lefties feel reducing the size and impact of government is fascist. Just, like, who taught you history?

Yeah, it's not like the government is threatening to jail women for reproductive rights, or that Trump is threatening to shut out\down the press if they print bad articles about him, or that he jokes about ending military veteran's careers if they don't like what he says, or taking over buildings and putting his name on it, or threatening other countries to do what he says or he'll withhold aid, or hang funding over universities because they don't teach the way he wants to or....

You seem to know a little bit about history, but not a ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ thing about current events.

Right, he actually cut my taxes. He actually cut the size of government. Wonderful actions. Thank you, Orange Man!
He cut your taxes? Okay. He cut the taxes on the top 1% far, far more, which also ended up taking government services away from you and those who you benefit off of. Overall? Americans are losing out in the big picture, even if they might maybe pay a bit less in taxes.

He cut the size of government? Perhaps by certain measures. More to the point, he ballooned government waste and actively worked to remove accountability from government in nigh every aspect. Government spending also ballooned, just like Trump's last term, despite the pretense of shrinking the government.

It's like you think that corrupted wishes are wonderful.

What, does he tell people that smoking is bad? Just like the mustachioed Austrian. What other similarities to you have. They both drink water?

They both lie perpetually, they both rant insanely, they both want to shut down the media...

I'd say they both wrote a book but I don't think Trump can write more than his name. I'd actually bet he's never read a single one of his executive orders.

Yeah, it's not like the government is threatening to jail women for reproductive rights,

The federal government is doing no such thing.

or that Trump is threatening to shut out\down the press if they print bad articles about him,

A politician doesn't like bad press. This is new somehow?

or taking over buildings and putting his name on it,

This I don't care for. No public space should be named after a living person.

or threatening other countries to do what he says or he'll withhold aid,

So other countries of have some inalienable right to American taxpayer dollars?

or hang funding over universities because they don't teach the way he wants to or....

There are a number of American colleges who do not take federal money to avoid government regulations.

You seem to know a little bit about history, but not a ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ thing about current events.

Is this the same tired trend where the same folks call people to the left of Stalin a Nazi?

Why do you defend this lying sack of rotten potatoes? I thought you said you didn't believe all his lies?

You seem to be running on the assumption that the federal government is an efficient, well-managed, entity that looks after the best interest of taxpayers. Ah, yeah, no.

Yes, they are. See the overturning of Roe vs. Wade by the conservative justices which the federal government put into power.

Not liking something and threatening to pull their broadcast license are two different things.

Neat.
So other countries of have some inalienable right to American taxpayer dollars?

If it's money assigned to that country by the Senate? Yes.

Cool.

I've never met him and never will. He does/says things that make my eyes roll. But as long as he keeps my taxes low, cuts regulation, gets rid of the DEI nonsense, and appoints conservative judges, he can behave as ridiculous as he wants to. I'd rather have an erratic president who actually delivers than one who seems nice but governs horribly.

I think that my old summary pretty much was -

1) Trump and Hitler have similar personalities. Both showed strong signs of malignant narcissism and many of their lesser similarities, like their obsession with media attention could be considered related to that.

2) Trump and Hitler use similar tactics. Trump was literally taught to use those tactics, though, so that's hardly a surprise.

3) Trump and Hitler both come across as lazy, inept fools that are easy to manipulate. The rich and powerful believe(d) with reasonable cause that they can use them to their advantage, which led to their support.

4) Trump and Hitler are leading their countries in similar directions in fair part because they've harnessed similar forces.

The two are certainly not the same, but the similarities are dramatic.

That's an interesting response. No, though, no such assumption was even implicit in what I pointed out. Rather, if you want a far, far simpler take - breaking things is not the same as fixing things. What the Trump Administration has done is largely breaking things and you are trying to pretend that they're fixing them.

Can you name a politician who isn't that way? Malignant narcissism and kind of a mandatory prerequisite to entering politics.

What tactics are those?

3) Trump and Hitler both come across as lazy, inept fools that are easy to manipulate.

Biden?

The rich and powerful believe(d) with reasonable cause that they can use them to their advantage, which led to their support.

Compared to whom?
4) Trump and Hitler are leading their countries in similar directions in fair part because they've harnessed similar forces.

Are you deliberately being vague about all this? What direction?

They way to fix a bloated government with many fraud-ridden programs is to stop the bloat and rid out the fraud.

That's been Republican policy for quite a while.
"The government doesn't work, and we're going to take a wrecking ball to it to prove it."
e.g. sabotaging the Post Office to show it "doesn't work" and should be replaced with private contractors.

Have you talked to every DEI hire, because if you haven't, then you have no idea what you're talking about.

Everything else you've posted is also pure nonsense.

A large majority of them, really, regardless of political party. Malignant narcissism isn't even remotely close to a mandatory prerequisite for politicians and it's telling that you would even try to pretend that it is.

JAQing off? Feel free to look up more about Roy Cohn and what he taught Trump, though.

Are you deliberately being vague about all this? What direction?

Is there any real need to do so in a general overall summary of the categories of significant similarities? For that one in particular, though, if you look at what major forces were supporting Hitler's rise to power, much the same forces have supported Trump's rise to power and for similar reasons. In general and in politics, it tends to be more helpful to pay attention to what forces are driving events and their goals, rather than getting bogged down in minutia.
