Trump's Second Term

A large majority of them, really, regardless of political party. Malignant narcissism isn't even remotely close to a mandatory prerequisite for politicians and it's telling that you would even try to pretend that it is.

JAQing off? Feel free to look up more about Roy Cohn and what he taught Trump, though.

Is there any real need to do so in a general overall summary of the categories of significant similarities? For that one in particular, though, if you look at what major forces were supporting Hitler's rise to power, much the same forces have supported Trump's rise to power and for similar reasons. In general and in politics, it tends to be more helpful to pay attention to what forces are driving events and their goals, rather than getting bogged down in minutia.
I see we've entered the 'LOL, I don't understand, please explain it to me again!' phase of bad-faith apologism.

First we had Covid tests, I think 4 from Biden. trump has an offer:

It's really funny that folks could imagine that the guys who fought and won WWII would have anything in common with today's lefties.
It's really funny you think they'd be aligned with today's fascists.

And that you think they would have uniform political views.

My dad, a lifelong Republican, would have despised Trump.

Q: Do you think Americans will be willing to pay more than $5 for a gallon of gas?

JOHNSON: No. The hostilities and the military operation in Iran are limited in scope. The president said it will be over soon. It's been remarkably successful. Over 5,000 targets struck. The leadership of the country, the regime has been turned over to a next generation.

Yes, to Ali Kahmenei's son Mojtaba who is if possible more hardline than his dad. It's like taking out Saddam to get Uday installed.

Is Johnson really that ill-informed?

ETA: It's not that great of analogy but it makes the point. This "next generation" is not something to be celebrated in this case.

Trump has made ICE into the largest police force in the country, with almost no oversight, spending tens of extra billions.
And this force has now murdered dozens of people, kidnapped thousands, and is incessantly breaking the law and judicial rulings.

Tell me how that is not massively expanding the government and its control over citizens
Tell me how that is not fascist.

Obamacare was the most notably fascist thing to occur in my lifetime. The state and the corporation merged and people, for a time, were bound by it. But I'm sure you'll defend that sort of fascism.
The Affordable Care Act does not rise to the level of fascism. It was a law that was proposed, legislated, vigorously debated, and passed. In the end it gave millions of Americans access to healthcare insurance and removed the ability of insurance companies to rescind policies if someone developed an expensive condition.

In addition, this is very similar to the Swiss and German healthcare models, and neither can be labelled fascist. It's disheartening that you view with such disdain something that has had huge benefits for 6% of Americans.

What, does he tell people that smoking is bad? Just like the mustachioed Austrian. What other similarities to you have. They both drink water?

In honor of Chuck Norris's 86th birthday yesterday (March 10, 1940), let me ask you a semi-serious question:

What do you think of MTG going all Chuck Norris on the fat clown's jackass?

And just to lighten up the mood, here are 101 Chuck Norris jokes:

The funniest part about it is that the Republicans who were opposing it at the time were opposing it because it was socialist. Which it is.

Copy pasted from Wikipedia in about thirty seconds:

Pretty much every President has had a few nutters take aim at them simply because they are President. Most don't get far enough to make the news.
But TACO's about the only one where members of his faction of the party he leads have attempted it.

Donald Trump has said Iran is "welcome" to play in the upcoming World Cup in North America, despite the war in the Middle East, according to Fifa president Gianni Infantino.

In a post on Instagram, the Fifa chief says he had a meeting with the US president to discuss preparations for the competition later this year, which the Iranian team has qualified for.

Infantino says: "During the discussions, President Trump reiterated that the Iranian team is, of course, welcome to compete in the tournament in the United States."

Reporter: On the Iranian school, why did President Trump say yesterday that Iran may have tomahawk missiles when there are only three US allies, plus the US, that have those missiles?

Leavitt: The president has a right to share his opinions with the American public…

And frankly, we're not going to be harassed by the New York Times, who's been putting out a lot of articles on this, making claims that have just not been verified by the department of war to quickly wrap up this investigation, because the New York Times is calling on us to do so.

Nobody is denying the president the right to hold opinions you mendacious ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊. They are asking why he's either clueless or lying

How dare the press presume to expect the president of the United States to be in any way briefed or informed on matters regarding the war he just started? The freedom to say whatever made-up nonsense sounds good to him is a cherished right which must be defended, with the blood of others as necessary.
