Trump's Second Term

Trump on the turkeys he's about to pardon: "I shouldn't say this. I was gonna call them Chuck and Nancy. But then I realized I wouldn't be pardoning them. I would never pardon those two people. I wouldn't pardon them. I wouldn't care what Melania told me."

"So I'm going to call them 'Gislaine' and 'Maxwell', and I'm going to pardon them both. Write up the pardon now with both names and I'll sign it straight away"

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

Idiot.

The pic of Kelly's medals we've seen here isn't mirrored. Not unless he wears his medals on the right rather than the left. IDK what picture Hegseth was looking at. Or whether he saw two of everything.

Anyway some thoughtful nit-pickers on Reddit suggested Kelly was wearing some medals on row 3 which really ought to be moved up to row 2 but other than that they saw nothing amiss.

Not American and have never been involved in any military anywhere, but...

During military training, are recruits ever given any sort of classroom instructions about what are legal vs. illegal orders? (Maybe not to the point where they can argue things in the supreme court, but at least a basic "shooting Americans who are not a threat is wrong. Don't do it".
When I was in the US Army, yes..in the Military Law lectures we got during basic training.

You forgot the part:
“The president… And the orders of those appointed over me”
That’s also in the oath

John McCain tried to hide his anti American agenda behind his service too.

If anybody doubts a dictatorship is the ulitmate goal of Trump, the last couple of weeks should awaken them.
More and more My favorite nickname for Trump is Benedict Donald. But on difference is that Benedict Arnold made genuine contributions before he turned traitor, Trump did not.
Ken Burns American Revolution series tells the story of Arnold quite well.

That doesn't hold up. The text on the medals is the right way around, and the medals are on the left breast, so nothing is reversed.

I suspect it's more likely that Hegseth is simply wrong.
Yes and with all due respect to other posters, a photograph does not reverse.

Though I might add that it's remotely possible that Kelly forgot the order momentarily while dressing in a mirror. Either way potted pete's critique is typical right wing mote and beam idiocy, arguing ideas by criticizing your suit. It's "shut up Piggy" in uniform.

Democrats becoming officers is a pernicious problem.

They are Marxist filth apparently.

I have long been puzzled by career U.S. military officers who align themselves with Democrats.

I know from a number of joint assignments and schools that this is a particularly pernicious problem in the Navy.

My explanation of this is as follows:

-The overwhelming majority of career military officers are politically conservative and view themselves as guardians of the Constitution. That means we are guarding the document that allows citizens to chart their own paths in freedom.

-The small minority of career military officers who are leftists OTOH view themselves as being superior protectors of the great mass of inferior citizens. Basically, they infantilize the citizenry and see themselves as intellectually and morally superior to the average American. It’s a patronizing, sneering attitude that is entirely consistent with Marxist control over a citizenry perceived as being unable to care for itself. That’s how they become Democrats, because that’s how the Democrat intelligentsia think.

Kelly is no patriot. He has no love for the actual Constitution. His love is what he sees as his duty to protect you from yourself. He sees himself as modern day royalty.

He’s not. He’s neo-Marxist filth trying to incite a military coup so he and his domineering ilk can have more control over you and me.

Every accusation is a confession.

I'm not military but someone who claims some credentials notes this about Kelly's medals.

(BTW, the issue seems to come from a tweet showing Kelly's medal rack. I'm not going medal by medal through his rack, but Hegseth is definitely wrong when he says the rows are reversed. No they aren't. His first three medals are Defense Superior Service Medalx2, Legion of Merit, and Distinguished Flying Cross, all of which are positioned correctly as his highest awards. All of which, also, are higher than any medal Hegseth ever earned. Hegseth's top medal is the Bronze Star.)

Edit: I used to do military comms and am now an editor for military publications, and I think the Secretary was wrong to say "reversed," but there is a swap that needs to be done on Kelly's uniform. The second row of medals in the photo, starting with the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, should be swapped with the third row, starting with the Navy Achievement Medal. I assume this is what Hegseth was referring to with "reversed."

It should be noted that Hegseth's Bronze Star is not for valor. While there might be some issue with 'reversed' every veteran seems to be coughing the words *bluefalcon* about Hegseth.
