Trump's Second Term

Constitution is crazy!

Trump on Ilhan Omar: "I look at somebody who comes from Somalia...and she comes in and tells us how to run our country. 'The Constitution says this, the Constitution says that.' The whole thing is crazy."

Maybe read it. If you keep getting surprised by being told what the constitution says, you should read it. Or, if your lips get too tired, maybe get, like, an intern or someone to read it for you.

Because that's what you want when you or one of your kids falls desperately ill. You want to have to negotiate. From a position of weakness. With businessmen who know they have you over a barrel.
But health insurance is for the healthy ones, not for the weak and ill.
Otherwise it would be called ill insurance.

Do you really believe that you ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ idiot???

She's one of the two Senators from my state, New Hampshire, who are among the eight turncoats who voted for this.

The list of the turncoats:

Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois

Sen. Angus King of Maine

Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia

Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania

Sen. Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire

Sen. Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire

Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada

Sen. Jacky Rosen of Nevada

Shaheen is not running for reelection. Good riddance. Hassan is up in 2028. I hope the Dems primary her.
Illinois' Dick Durbin has already announced he's not seeking reelection too. Looks like a list of 'nothing to lose' losers.

Time to rewrite the constitutuion.
Article II: The president can rewrite any law as an executive order. This new law shall apply for the current termonly.
Article III: The Judicial shall do all their judicial stuff, but the president cannot be charged with anything. Ever.

help rescue the people who were hunted
Where does the constitution mention alternate electors?

Ed Martin: "What this pardon does is help rescue the people who were hunted. The Biden administration hunted the alternate electors who were participating in our constitutional process in 2020 ... they were Trump supporters who believed in the Constitution."

Don't recruit more coos or improve the training.
Just get the National Guard in to do the job.

Rep. Pat Harrington: "I have asked Josh Stein, our governor, to consider working with President Trump to allow the National Guard to come into Charlotte ... use the National Guard as a force multiplier and they can a lot of load off the Charlotte PD."

Bluesky was melting down yesterday and today over the eight Democrat senators who voted with the Republicans to end the shutdown. Coming on the heels of a massive win in elections the week before, the Democrats apparently threw away their best chance to extend the ACA subsidies in exchange for a promise to get a vote on legislation about thirty to sixty days out. There is no indication the vote will be in the Democrats' favour, especially in both houses.

Most blame Chuck Schumer for not having better control over the caucus.

Many noted that all the senators who voted for ending the shutdown are either retiring or not up for re-election next year. From this they conclude Schumer actively decided to end the shutdown and found eight senators in safe districts to vote for it. The posters also noted the vote was held after last week's elections, presumably so as not to affect the Democrats' chances of winning.

A great many Democrats are decrying the vote to end the shutdown as a capitulation to the Republicans and a massive disgrace to the their party. They're calling for Schumer to resign as leader.

Nobody has hinted that Schumer may have also been working behind the scenes to secure Republican votes for the promised ACA subsidy vote thirty to sixty days from now. But if he has those cards and will be playing them over the next month or two, and actually gets the ACA subsidies restored, that would be a massive political win despite the heat he's taking now. But that's the only good that can come out of this, and it's not looking at all promising right now.
That's a nice idea and I hope it's true, but these days if any Republican gave me a card I'd take a picture of it before the ink disappears.
