Trump's Second Term

No, he's trying to rationalise why these mayors are claiming their cities are not war-torn disaster areas when Stephen Miller insists they're blazing ruins where anarchy rules.

He's decided their cities really are in flames, and they're in the vice-like grip of Antifa terrorists, and the only reason the mayors are saying that's complete nonsense is their fear that Antifa will murder them if they admit Trump is right.

Honestly? The problem with this is that it once again runs up against "Trump is a BSer" problem. You cannot trust the things that Trump says to actually be what he believes in the first place, much less reliably take another assumptive step to explain why he believes it.

It's plausible that you're right and this is the case. It's just as plausible as Trump issuing a death threat in his usual mafia-esque way. Heck, the two aren't really even mutually exclusive. Trump could also easily be mindless repeating whatever bit of nonsense he thinks will give him some advantage, further some grudge, or help him become a dictator without any real comprehension of what he's actually saying or care about how insanely dumb it is. That would also have much precedent.

This whole thing is spiraling out of control. trump and his minions have become truly horrifying.
:eye-poppi
Have become? As far as I'm concerned, Trump and his minions were truly horrifying during his first term. They may be worse now, but that does not diminish how bad they were then.

NEW POLL: Americans Want Democrats to END Their Shutdown
70% oppose the government shutdown.
65% say Democrats should accept Republicans’ clean, nonpartisan continuing resolution.
55% say Democrats are “just trying to please their base.”
Ok, normally you cannot trust anything the republicans say. But there is a kernel of truth to this...

There is a harvard/harris poll that shows yes, 70% of people oppose the shutdown. And yes, the poll does show 65% of people think the democrats should just accept the "clean" funding resolution.

The same poll also shows: 53% blame republicans for the shutdown, 47% blame democrats.

Personally I would have thought there would be more blame directed at Trump and the republicans and less at the democrats instead of teh rather close 6% point difference. But at least the Democrats are "winning" over the issue right now. I just hope the public doesn't start to turn on the democrats if the shutdown runs longer.

The Democrats are so cruel in their continual votes to shut down the government that they forced the WIC program for the most vulnerable women and children to run out this week.

Thankfully, President Trump and the White House have identified a creative solution to transfer resources from Section 232 tariff revenue to this critical program.

The Trump White House will not allow impoverished mothers and their babies to go hungry because of the Democrats' political games.

Socialist!

How are babies supposed to learn how to pull themselves up by their bootstraps if they learn to depend on government handouts with their mother's milk?

Trump rants at Senator Richard Blumenthal

“This guy shouldn’t even be in the U.S. Senate…He should be allowed to speak no longer!”

"He should be investigated"

Donald J. Trump
@realDonald Trump
Sanctimonious Richard "Da Nang Dick" Blumenthal, perhaps the biggest "joke" in the United States Senate, is at it again! "Dick" lied until the midpoint of his political career, convincing everyone, in particular the Fake News Media, that he was a great "War Hero" who lived on the precipice of death in the jungles of Vietnam. He would talk about his life in the military in almost every speech, in particular the death defying dangers he faced in his many years "fight for freedom" while in Vietnam. He stated that "the battles were violent and long, but there was no going back" - And then it happened, Blumenthal was found out to be a FRAUD. The soldiers in his so-called "platoon" came forward and said that they had no idea who this guy was. He was revealed, broke down and admitted, tears flowing from his eyes, that he LIED, a Whopper, one that lasted 20 year. This guy shouldn't even be in the U.S. Senate. It should be investigated, and Justice should be sought. Right now there is a Congressman sitting in prison for lying about his past during a campaign. Well, those lies were nothing compared to those of Richard "Da Nang Dick" Blumenthal, perhaps the greatest phony in the history of the United States Senate. He should be allowed to speak no longer!
